Hey Everyone,

It's been a while since I've posted on a forum, I'm super active in the Raptor community and produce events for Raptors (and other vehicles) called the Texas Raptor Run and the Baja Raptor Run. I also on an off-road shop in New Braunfels, TX called Comal Truck Gear (silly name, serious work). My FE should be here any day, and we plan to tear right into it. Here is our build plan which I plan to document as well as I can keep up with. Looking forward to learning something and sharing my knowledge!

Phase 1:
Fox 2.5" Coilovers
Method 702 17" Bronze
37x12.50 Nitto Ridge Grapplers

Phase 2:
Advanced Fiberglass fenders
Baja Kits UCAs and Rear Trailing Arms
Aftermarket Bumper (TBD) with Baja Designs LP6 lights
Icom 2730 VHF Radio with remote head unit
Rear-facing amber dust light

Phase 2.5:
Rear drawer storage
Fridge
Dual Battery with RedArc charger

Phase 3:
Mid Travel

Have you had experience with Baja kits on your raptor builds? What is the overall feel for them?

How is the ride with the fox compared to stock on and off road?
It's definitely smoother, haven't done a ton of offroading in the Bronco yet, but I did take it to a place called Rally Ready to drive around a bit and it was fun.

why buy 1500 dollar upper arms if you are going to ditch them for mid travel?
Better caster for handling. The arms are rebuildable and should hold their value for the most part so I'll resell them when that day comes.

Their quality has gone up immensely, I know the owners well and have raced with them quite a bit. Their entire program has gone to another level and I have full faith in their products.

Can I ask a question 🙋‍♂️
If you know…. Or @rtaylor

The ranger guys run the same king or fox tuning and valving upper arm and +3 kits

The Tacoma guys run the same king or fox tuning and valving for upper arm or LT kits.

BajaKits is using the same shocks for the +3 kit.

The motion ratio and or leverage ratio on the shock has to be different. How exactly does that work.

I’m trying really hard to run the ESCV shocks on the BajaKits setup. Built in bumps. 250 replacement cost. More actual travel than fox/king. I don’t think I’ll be going fast enough to snap shafts so that doesn’t deter me. It’s just the spring rate… OME should have coils out soon if needed.

(Raptor is the only one that has LT specific tuning packages I’ve seen.)

Plot twist!

I didn’t love the foxes and run Kings on several of my other trucks. Also my wife didn’t like the bronze so we did black 702 methods.

We also got the Baja Kits UCAs on and I am very happy with them.
