Placed my order earlier this week ahead of the 19th cut off and last night decided I wanted to change my interior option on my OBX. Dealer said it’s no longer possible to change anything at this point. Is this accurate? I read we could until a VIN has been assigned. Is there some official info from Ford that supports this?

I believe this is dealer bullshit. Probably just lazy and doesn’t want to or doesn’t know how. You can change anything until a vin is assigned.

From my understanding, I think you have to get your reservation converted to an order yesterday 03/19 but you can still edit until your production is scheduled (VIN assigned). I hope this is true because I'm thinking of adding that headliner now lol

That headliner thing is supposed to be free and I THINK automatic. But would be good to make sure dealer confirms it gets added.

Wait one damn minute....Did you just say, "...dealer said..." and you believe them?

You can change your build until a VIN is issued.

I have a BL with MGV vinyl seats though, it would've been deducted if I already have it as part of my build. Those with MGV seats will be optional

That is correct (should) be automatic with cloth and leather. Needs to be requested for MGV. (y)

I'd be extremely careful on changing things up too drastically before a VIN is issued. Keep in mind, Ford has to see how much they need and are trying to get enough materials for builds. Changing something up last minute or waiting too long can hamper Ford, and then in turn delay your build leaving you upset.

But as of now, yes you can still change your build.

How do I know? I'm the Bronco Specialist for my Ford Store.

Thanks for the info. My dealer is standing firm on no changes so if there is any official info you know I can point him to, I’d appreciate it.

I'd tell Him that you can easily get Ford Brass (Mike Levine) to ruin his day if He'd like to not be helpful. I'm not sure if that'll help, but you might need to involve Levine to get the needle moved. You can even point Him to this forum, Granger and other dealers on here that will happily help customers change their builds.

We went to the Ford Bronco Preview even this morning at Varsity Ford in Ann Arbor MI. The Bronco Program (Ford Employees) told me that we can still change our order up until the VIN is assign. However, this order change will push us to a 2022 model. This is very frustrating since Ford just announced revisions 2 days ago as to when various options updated availability. I just learned that several options I wanted that were originally delayed to 2022 are now late summer of 2021. But I can't change anything now.....very frustrating!

I placed my order but then decided to make an engine change. Kept everything the same otherwise. I told my dealer about the change on Monday in the beginning of the week. My dealer ended up doing the build and price all over again from scratch and placed a new order and it wasn't till Friday the 19th when they made the change. Was this the correct way to do it? Or could they have just made a the change on my existing order that I had already placed? The thing that worries me is when they placed the first order I got a confrontation email from Ford later that day. So far I haven't received the same confirmation email with the new order. I don't know why they did it that way? And why the heck did they wait till the last day at 4pm according to the new order sheet that they emailed me? Hopefully its ok.
