I'd be extremely careful on changing things up too drastically before a VIN is issued. Keep in mind, Ford has to see how much they need and are trying to get enough materials for builds. Changing something up last minute or waiting too long can hamper Ford, and then in turn delay your build leaving you upset.

But as of now, yes you can still change your build.

How do I know? I'm the Bronco Specialist for my Ford Store.
I agree with this, from what I was told yesterday. My dealer who is a straight shooter, has always said you can change anything on the build up to when the VIN is assigned. However, he told me yesterday as we were discussing another matter, that changes can be made up to April 10th, which is different from what he has always said. My interpretation was that changes made after 4-10 could cause delays as Ford is allocating based on the builds on that date. Doesnā€™t mean changes canā€™t be made after that date, just has a high risk of delaying further.

From my understanding, I think you have to get your reservation converted to an order yesterday 03/19 but you can still edit until your production is scheduled (VIN assigned). I hope this is true because I'm thinking of adding that headliner now lol
This is the information my dealer told me and I trust him. He said he got dozens of calls and emails yesterday about the headliner and he will be editing orders of mgv interior for people next week.

My sales manager said I can make changes up until the vin is created... I trust his word here.

That makes sense, otherwise you could game it by ordering a sin free model and options, get the build date, and then change it to a full on Lucifer build :devilish:

I placed my order but then decided to make an engine change. Kept everything the same otherwise. I told my dealer about the change on Monday in the beginning of the week. My dealer ended up doing the build and price all over again from scratch and placed a new order and it wasn't till Friday the 19th when they made the change. Was this the correct way to do it? Or could they have just made a the change on my existing order that I had already placed? The thing that worries me is when they placed the first order I got a confrontation email from Ford later that day. So far I haven't received the same confirmation email with the new order. I don't know why they did it that way? And why the heck did they wait till the last day at 4pm according to the new order sheet that they emailed me? Hopefully its ok.
So we have to essentially "restart" the build. When you change the engine it changes the Body/Build Code. So we have no choice in that matter. As long as the new order summary/sheet has your build the way you want then you should be fine.

Ok. As long as it all good I'm fine with it. I was just curious if that's the way it was supposed to be done versus just editing the last order I had.

Thanks for the info. My dealer is standing firm on no changes so if there is any official info you know I can point him to, Iā€™d appreciate it.
Well, again, BS. I just changed my color choice two days ago soooooooo .....your dealer, again, is wrong. You can change all the way up until a VIN is assigned to your build.

You can also put your order in at any time. The March 19 date only applies to the production schedule for first quarter. Later reservation conversions only put you in a later quarterā€™s production schedule.

Noticed your reply to @BroncoMan13,
I too changed my order on Feb, 22. I switched from a Wiltrak to BadLands. However, I still have not received a second confirmation email and my online reservation still shows the following.

Should I see an update by now, or should I contact someone about this?
I have the physical Build & Price from my dealer; however, I'm afraid my order was not properly submitted.

Just wondering what your thought are, thanks!

I am in a similar scenario. I placed my reservation for an outer banks, switched to a badlands and even though I have an email from Ford as a confirmation, and a confirmation build page from my dealer, I am worried my build isnā€™t tied to my reservation. My ford account still shows the outer Banks, as does the web page source code trick. Maybe Iā€™m just paranoid, but it seems like other people have had issues, so I worry.

Update: My dealer is still sticking to his guns and said that "Ford has not announced" that changes to orders can be made. It's diving me insane and I'm worried I won't be able to change and I'll forever be bummed. Blargh.

So I would just call your dealer in this instance and ask for a new build order summary, maybe even a screenshot to make sure. I'm not aware of 2nd confirmation emails going out when someone makes a change. I've had 1 customer so far make 1 Huge change on his build, which was adding sasquatch, change the color 3 times and it's easily done. If your dealers are giving you a hard time I'm sorry. That's not fair to you as consumers.

Well, you've gotten more than me if you got a second email. I haven't even gotten that much. I hope it works out for both of us!
I thought I was getting the better deal by saving $2000 with the Wildtrak as opposed to the Badlands, but I later realized that was a rushed decision on my part. Hope I don't live to regret it if I'm stuck with my initial decision lol

No grief from my dealer, thankfully. However, they're not super responsive unless I go into the dealership. Might pop by for a visit tomorrow and may call ford directly as well. My dealer and I might just have to start over from scratch. Not being able to see the online reservation page update has me feeling nervous šŸ˜….
Thanks for the help and advice, Bravo.

No wait!!!!
It sounds like @BroncoMan13 is saying his dealer made a *new* order instead of editing the existing one.

Yes, you basically build an order piece by piece, so if you want to change doors or motor or something fundamental you have to essentially unbuild the order back to the early step and then rebuild it.

But youā€™re still using the existing order.

If your dealer said they needed to make a brand new order, then that means they basically threw out your timestamp and gave you a new one for whatever day they made this change.

If thatā€™s true it can be corrected with varying degrees of complexity depending on if they cancelled your first order or kept it for themselves.

What does your Ford.com profile show? Just your original reservation turned order, or a brand new order?

Known funny business with the Ford.com site. Not everyone receives a second email and very few people see an update to their Ford.com Profile after a change is made. Good standard is the order preview your dealer should give you.

Update: My dealer is still sticking to his guns and said that "Ford has not announced" that changes to orders can be made. It's diving me insane and I'm worried I won't be able to change and I'll forever be bummed. Blargh.
I donā€™t know what to tell you other than it *absolutely* can be changed. Just like any other retail order your dealer has ever made, and just like all the Bronco orders here that have been changed.

Ford has publicly announced that they are *expecting* people to modify their orders when they receive their delivery estimates and see what options may be causing a delay.

Here is the public, on camera, question and answer where Ford announced you can modify your order until the VIN is assigned:

https://www.bronco6g.com/build-price-update-from-ford-qa-with-bronco-brand-manager-video/

You must dig your heels in and not accept anything else from your dealer. Sit with them at a desk with their Ford corporate region on speaker phone to have them walk through the process with your dealer.

It really sucks that they arenā€™t educated enough but you have to advocate for yourself.

My dealer said I can make changes , and he emailed to see if I wanted the headliner added to my badlands build.
