Just saw this in the Q&A from the Scottsdale expo. This is a show stopper for me. Hope they get a answer soon.
"Is the vehicle flat towable?
At the moment, the manual is and the automatic is not. They’re still working out kinks with the auto transmission setup. The goal is to have both flat towable in neutral gear for MY21 release."

EDIT: ^^^^^ "What he said while I was typing" LOL ... ^^^^^^

I could have sworn they stated early on during the first reveal days that is was flat towable , there was no mention of auto or not.
Put transfer case in neutral and tow.
Which brings to mind, the transfer case would have more effect on it being flat towable than the tranny.

Just pull the rear shaft. Take 15 minutes. IWE should take care of the front. I mean unless you are doing some fast and furious getaways shouldnt be a big deal. Especially with the ground clearance they have.

The neutral in the transfer case negates issues with whichever transmission its bolted to. When the t-case is in neutral, no rotation gets back to the transmission regardless of which it is. The only catch would be if, for some reason, the cases bolted to the a/t don't have the neutral mode after all.

Some transfer cases require the transmission to be in neutral or in gear or themselves in gear for lubrication. Pull the u joint off the rear diff is the way to go.

the Ranger is flat towable as is the Bronco:

from the Ranger Product Manager and the Owners Guide found on fleet.ford.com - Yes. 4wd only. put transfer case dial in 2wd, push ignition button to release shifter and place in neutral. Use steering wheel buttons to operate info center to place vehicle in "neutral tow mode", and turn ignition off. That's why I ordered one.

This is the one question I think the Rep got wrong. His answer was correct for the Bronco Sport, but not for the real Bronco. Transfer case in neutral is OK

Good point, my bad. Still think he's in error though. It's stated many places in Bronco info and in the Ranger Owners manual. Neutral transfer case tow is OK.

I remember hearing the same thing, don’t know if it was YouTube or Forums?

HAHAHA. Sorry I don’t mean To laugh. How about everyone just buy a manual and then Ford will stop being stupid and make the 2.7 with a manual.
