I’m sure @HBTFD got you sorted out, but I too ran into the same issue. It looks like Ford changed the size of that lip (again).E: Looks like an issue with my bumper, not the bracket. Thanks for the quick PM, Walt!
Hey Walt @HBTFD, maybe you or someone else can help me. I didn't have any luck installing this.
I received the double-hole style plate bracket. If I use the far holes, there's a big gap to the bumper (and the instructions do say to avoid this gap).
If I use the front holes, there's no way this thing is going to sit anywhere close to the proper angle. And if I tighten down those screws, the screw will absolutely damage the bumper.
Photo 1 - (incorrect) rear hole location, big gap to bumper
Photo 2 - showing the location of the front holes when the plate is at the proper angle
Photo 3 - approximate angle/gap when using a bolt through the front hole.
Any suggestions?

I made it work by using some "light persuasion"—aka: I bent the metal until it fit. Images below. Obviously the next problem is the Torx bits are rusting out—only had the Bronco for just under 3 weeks (still on the first tank of gas), so obviously those will have to be replaced at some point with galvanized/plated/stainless equivalents.
