Where's the analysis? This looks like someone reworded part of the IIHS press release to make it sound like something they wrote . No new info in this.

I rate this article "Marginal".

I liked being able to watch the crash videos side by side in slo-mo. Maybe that's been posted previously, but it's the first time I saw it.

One area I found most interesting was at the 1:15 minute point in the video. Watch how violently the jeep passenger front wheel rotates almost 90 degrees after impact whereas the Bronco wheel slightly rotates and returns to almost straight after impact. Might this be the reason for the roll over? Forcing the Jeep to rotate and flip? Is that also another major difference between a solid front axel and IFS? Food for thought.

It would be very interesting to see if there is any difference with/without crash bars.

I've thought the same thing for a while.

I think you're on to something here. The Bronco's weaker steering system just lets go, so it doesn't 'steer' the opposite side. Maybe that's the objective of Ford's design: to make it safer in impacts at the expense of sometimes snapping on the trails when higher-offset wheels and mega tires are added.

I'd like testing to reflect:
1. With and without crash bars.
2. With steel front bumpers.

I really wonder the impact on safety of those two items.

I was to see with SAsquaTCH PACKAGE. It would also make me sad as one of my orders contains that needed equipment.

1. Donā€™t they all have crash bar?

2. Default is not steel front bumper right? Do you think it would perform worse or better?

1. No. Sasquatch models donā€™t have it

2. Iā€™d guess that steel performs a lot better.
