Went to my dealer over the weekend and looked at a Ford Explorer with this color. Wanted to see the color outside. They had an F150 parked closed behind that was a darker gray metallic, (forgot the color name) the darker gray was noticeable.

That looks MUCH better than the bright silvery ones. If I do go sasquatch, I'm getting these for sure if I get Carb Gray. Although, $1500 more to go SAS on BL but this is standing very nicely without SAS. I need to see it more and in the 4-door before I decide.

Uh oh... slipping away from A51?
Lol
Maybe?

You'll all be happy to know I cancelled my reservation until I can see this with mine own eyes and drive it with my own two hands.

I can't wait to see more of this one. I'm going 4-door but I'd like to see how the MIC looks with Carb Grey in the wild.

I'm also leaning toward staying with the 33" tires and just upgrading to the Black High Gloss-Painted Aluminum Wheels for $995. Looks like that is what is in the image? I also think the A/T tires will do much better in snow than the bigger M/T tires... and maybe better gas mileage?

Sounds like you and I are waffling on the same things. I'm now tempted to just stick with the soft top and then do modular later (white, in my case). I know you had decided on that. I've also been tempted to not bother with Sasquatch. My Xterra right now is super capable just with 31.5" and a rear locker. Give me a front locker and slightly bigger tires and I can go anywhere that I feel like I'll want to. I'll never be a hard core rock crawler; I just like the hard trails that get me to my 14er trails.

Also: Side note, I posted in another thread somewhere that Phil Long and Mike Naughton (and maybe others) have Carbonized Gray Explorers currently in stock if you wanted to check them out in person.

Careful on what you see on the rendering pics. So much false and misguided.

This was passed in to me by another member after sharing my quest to find a photo of carbonized gray in the wild.

I DO NOT want to start a riot, but that looks silver to me—positive this is CG? Either way, it does look sweet!

Yeah. Everything in the factory lighting looks about 12 shades brighter than it is.

Chris
I’m a graphic designer & own a silver JLU & it looks that way in the photo—well... it looks like the 4x4 mine wants to be, lol
