In prep for placing an order on a new Badlands, what was to be the easier decision has turned into one of the more complex and important- the exterior color. My intro to Bronco began with a test drive of a black Badlands. Black on black looks good and adds to sophisticatio, but only when it's spotless. Plus I felt ordering black on a fun open roof vehicle such as Bronco gave it an overly serious look.
When going through the build sheet with the dealer, I found Cactus Gray to be quite fitting. The dealer confirmed that CG and the Eruption Green were the 2 top color choices for his clients. I selected the Cactus G as it reminded me of the more vintage colors. White was the runner up though as IMO it complimented the open roof vehicle appearance. However, coming out of the store today my wife and I saw a white Bronco parked next to our car and it looked a bit plain. Part of that was the black top and black fender flares. Now, if it had a body color top and fender flares, that may have improved the appearance...
Originally I didn't consider Carbonized Gray because it seems that every 3rd car on the road is gray. It also seems to be the color of choice for the Tesla owners. We just got home and looked at the images of Bronco in Carbonized Gray with aftermarket wheels. Have to admit that the CG with bronze rims looked pretty nice. I can also see installing a set of Bushwacker wheel flares in body color while going with wider tires to fill out extra width.
What were your ordinal motivators for color choice? Will the CG look "boring"?
