Drove my daughters VW again this morning. Plugged in my phone and last played song started in 5 seconds max. No pop ups, no selection to make. Just works.
Took forever with multiple attempts and replugging it into the Bronco yesterday. Come on Ford. This is not a new issue. Last three Fords I’ve owned in last 1 1/2 years all behave this way. Let’s see if this can be fixed in an update.

Mine gets built next month so i'm sure i'll experience it, but my 2020 f-150 and Sync 3 in general is/was laggy, was hoping sync 4 with the 12" would be better.

Hmmmm…. Mine has worked flawlessly in BlueTooth “mode”. In over 10 months of daily driving and multiple starts, it “connects” within 10 seconds. I have only had to “turn it on” via the Bronco screen twice, once in the city and once while off-road to get my trail map back up after a short stop.

The oddities in the Sync system are so weird. My fathers 2018 F150 has terrible connectivity issues and Ford couldn’t solve it to save their lives

Shift over to my ‘22 Bronco and I’ve not had any issues with it. Get in, plug phone in, start vehicle, connected

Sounds like the VW is using a Wire for Carplay where the Bronco is using a Wireless connection. Granted I believe you can still use the cable but I havn't plugged in the cable once. I did bluetooth, enabled carplay and as soon as I get in and start up it takes about 1-2 seconds and poof carplay is up.

Is it a little slower then a cable connected, yes but still have not had any issues.

I get in the Bronco and it just works wirelessly. Much better than what was in my 19 ranger. Only pulg in to charge. Sounds like a you problem. Maybe you need an update somewhere?

Using a wire. And this is my 3rd recent new Ford. Even had direct contact with Maverick design team by invitation. They are aware.

don't plug it in? my 23 works flawlessly wireless. I was actually very surprised as the wired connection in my challenger is hit or miss like every time.

I usually use mine wirelessly, and it connects in a few seconds.

We've become such a demanding society of everything "taking too long." If a few seconds is really that big of a deal, then install a CD player or something. It's not like your vehicle can't drive until CarPlay boots up.

There are two different head unit options, both running different hardware and software. I have the smaller screen and carplay is very slow to connect and sometimes doesn't connect without rebooting the head unit or removing the carplay setup and re-setting it up.

I think the people with the larger screen which has more up to date software has less issues with carplay.

Also very important to make sure your software on your phone is up-to-date. It can make a big difference on how CarPlay works
