No. For some reason Jeep decided to use a gear ratio on the rear axle that hurts towing, but does not help MPG.

I will be towing my 2004 TJ Rubicon, and was thinking about getting a Sport, or Sport S with the Max tow package, but decided I wanted the Rubicon drivetrain, lockers, and swaybar disconnect. It is rated to tow 7000lbs, which will be more than enough for my needs.

I did lurk on the Gladiator forums and saw lots of people are doing exactly what I plan to do, with zero issues.

Oh weird, the diesel is different than the 3.6? 4.11 or whatever it is? I don’t blame you, the rubicon is sweet and if I’m towing anything that I have to question, I need a full size truck.

Yup
When you add the Diesel, the Axle gears get changed to 3.73
So odd.

@DealerInsider, why do all the soft tops on your vehicles look great? Tight, taught rear windows with no waves. Every other I have seen online or in person is a diaster.
