That is Fnking scary. I mean, I'm sure the owner could fight this but at what cost?

Even here in California, I don't think they could get away with something like this. I can't put a lien on someone's property unless they owe you money. But again what they're legally allowed to do, and what someone actually does is only separated by lawyers, courts, and a lot of expense and time.
