There is one vendor on our forum that has scanned every inch of the Bronco and everytime we buy from them we are enabling and supporting this

My take, buy american!

But for sure, there will be tons or extremely well built Chinese EVs coming to the US - with varying levels of design that appeals to the US market. Because they can make stuff, really really well.
Not really, since Chinese autos have tariffs of 27.5% on them. So unless they want to lose money or flood the market, which would cause the USG to take further measures to protect the US based manufactures.

That is part of the reason why Ford doesn't sell cheaper products in the USA-they where planning on selling the Focus Active here, built in China, but due to geopolitical considerations, that didn't happen.

You might see some luxury cars imported (Buick does this and Lincoln might do it for a short period of time till more EVs come in a few years), but the volume would be small and margins would be able to take care of the import taxes.

Anyone sleeping on China is in for a rude awakening at some point. You're in the lead, monopoly even, then "planned obsolescence" sounds like a great idea and Toyota eats your lunch for three decades while your cars literally fall apart. Profits!

I think it looks reasonably snazzy for probably just a rendering. Not really seeing the Bronco bit either. Wouldn't buy one, but if they were comparable and stuck the landing on the top, maybe Ford'd get their act together. Real competition works, it's just a drag on "profits that could've been".

- end rant ✊

Turns out they weren’t spying on our western governments just our automotive taste.

China OEM made a fake wrangler, so fake bronco should be on order. Saw these over spring break in Riviera Maya a few years ago:

21k price tag makes it much more interesting. Only 28k topped out. I don’t think it looks bad, and lots of other auto manufacturers have copied styling from others. And I bet you won’t have to wait 2+ years to get it after you place your order.

there is absolutely more to come on tax / trade negotiation coming - I still would not count China out on bringing (not only luxury) EVs to to US.

Given what is happening with reshoring industry in the USA and trade with China, I don't see the auto market here becoming more friendly with Chinese autos

I assume you mean Mabett, who has taken that info and produced products that US vendors couldn't be bothered to make? American companies happily send their stuff over there for manufacturing too, and pass on those cost savings to us in the form of increased prices.

Hell, mabett's tailgate table is probably made in the same factory as the official 'Ford' one, and costs $100 less.

Not friendly, like Ford investing 3.5 bn in CATL? US wants to make and sell cars within China as well. So there will need to be some re-balancing of the tarifs both ways - specifically when Chinese auto makers are ready to expand markets beyond the success they have been enjoying in Europe. https://europe.autonews.com/automakers/chinese-electric-car-exports-europe-soar

The CATL battery plant is being paid by the USG-Ford is using the tech they have, but building it all in house in the USA so they get the money. The patents on the battery tech (which are from US Universities) are set to expire soon also that CATL has. China has a 15% tariff on imported cars.

Stellantis is considering pulling out of China after all the issues Jeep has faced there

https://www.autonews.com/china/stellantis-mulls-ending-all-car-output-china-after-jeep-exit

Western Auto manufactures are required to team up with Chinese brands to sell products in China.

What it boils down to is that doing business in China is going to be politically not a smart idea-companies currently there are in the process of moving manufacturing to other countries because of the deteriorating geopolitical relations and the supply chain issues that blew up during COVID.
