Does this mean that over the life of a vehicle, auto stop/starts saves only $50? This is just my interpretation, but it sounds like an admission that this basically provides no benefit at all.

From the article, " Those who ultimately buy one of these vehicles without start/stop technology will receive a $50 discount off MSRP for their troubles. Losing this fuel-saving tech could be a big negative for some, but we know many folks turn it off anyway. Not having to press the button to deactivate start/stop every time could actually be a positive if you’re part of the camp who does that already."

Any chance I can pay $50 not to have that “feature”??!?
I’d pay $500 to remove this stupid feature.

Really, is that the point we’re at now? Paying manufacturers to remove options from our vehicles? Ugh…
