Please don’t roast me, but serious question….

How are you with soft tops, and live in cold climates, transporting a Christmas tree on a Bronco?

I assume there are many here that had/have a soft top Jeep that encountered this as well.

Thanks.

Are you asking about just directly strapping a tree to your top without any sort of rack? Sounds sticky. At the very least I'd wrap the tree in a plastic tarp or mattress bag then run straps through your windows, protecting the contact points so you don't get any paint rubbing.

Tarp it bro! Maybe double tarp it, you don't know where that tree's been. LOL
We cut down our trees at a tree farm, so I know we’re the first 😉

I have been wondering the EXACT. I was thinking remove soft top windows - fold seat down and have the tree going out the back next to the spare - either that or remove the ENTIRE soft top for the operation - i of course do NOT live in a cold climate (south florida) and live 5 minutes from where i buy my tree

That's of course assuming I HAVE my bronco by then....still waiting - and my gladiator handles xmas trees like a charm

It is because of hard-hitting questions like this that I just can't seem to quit this forum.

Bag it up and put it in the back, bag it and strap it to the top, small trailer, strap it to a hitch mount cargo carrier, friend with a truck, buy an artificial tree (ugh, don't do that), in 2021 there is bound to be a delivery app for that (I get 10% of profits if you develop one), other

Usually just place a small blanket on my softtop JK and throw the tree on top with some ratchet straps and no problems for a short to medium drive.

First year or so I’d pay to deliver or pay in pizza for a buddy’s truck. After that i’d have it netted then wrap it in a drop cloth. What’s tough is the weird rear windshield. I dont think you can really open it up and rest the tree on top the tailgate. More likely just put the top down and go slow home with the tree on top sticking out the back.

Do you have a hitch? I am getting a hitch mounted cargo tray.

Get a cargo basket/tray for the trailer hitch. Strap it to that. Did that with my wranlger, will do it with the bronco.

Rent a truck/van at Home Depot. Usually $20 for first hour, or rent a trailer.

Could also get one of those roof racks that work with the top down. Exposed Racks makes one now.
