Good morning everyone,

Quick question. This may be a one off. I seem to be getting this clicking or clacking sound on my two-door black diamond bronco. It’s coming from the passenger door seems like the pillar. I’m wondering if anyone else has had this issue. When I loosen the roof latches on that side it seems to get better. Thanks

I have been trying to track that down as well. it is the most prevelent when the truck hits a bump that causes small flex in the roof panels. I think it is the guide pins on the latch bracket. Might put a small piece of pelican case foam to stop movement of the pin accross the metal bracket.

This is a well known issue for the MIC tops. It is the centering pin on the latches that are making the popping sounds. Easy fix is to wrap them in electrical tape or buy some vinyl vacuum caps from the parts store to place over them. Solved the problem on my wifes BL.

See pic below. I circled the capped pin in green.

Blue Bronco is spot on with this fix on the MIC tops.

I just did the offrodeo in a 2door in NH and the roof made alot of creaking and groaning sounds on the trails. Something is definitely flexing and rubbing

What's interesting about the MIC on my 2 door is the comes and goes. I suspect that it depends on the outside temperature. Very noticeable during temps above 70 degrees. After completing this fix my noise is now in the back corners. Stereo volume goes up to prevent me from going crazy.

But this fricking vehicle is such a blast to drive.

Here is what I did to stop the creaking in my MIC top. Worked perfectly.

13k kms on mine with a quite a bit of rough bumpy off road shuttling mountain bikes, and just out exploring trails and mine just started a slight rattle, going to do the shrink tube fix.
