That‘s my point though. The bottom photo is still pre-production. It’s possible production tops will be darker, or closer to the cgi images.

we know it wont be shiny so it will NEVER match the column. But it might match the tailgate clamps that have been shown to be much darker.

Attention: if theres any Ford factory workers on this forum who are making the MIC tops can you not accidentally knock some black off into the vat or something?

Thanks in advance ...

Hammer.

I was having a hard time deciding between Cactus Cray and Carbonized Gray. Problem solved, Carbonized Gray body paint with Carbonized Gray MIC Top. No waiting until 2022 for the body match Hardtops and save $1895. Looks like a win/win.

I haven't read the whole thread but I'm thinking that some PlastiDip might be needed. I may take a panel off and try it. At least it is easily reversible if I don't like it.

i just saw a (all be it bad) video walk around on Instagram of a Badlands area 51 with the hardtop. It looked grey, and not good. The top in the video definitely didn't look like the photos I posted in the first post. So now I'm back to WTF.
I get it that they are all pre-productions, but don't go showing off a new rig demoing it around and have odd-ball colors for the top! Seriously Ford WTH?!

It will be a deal breaker for me to get one of the first ones if the unpainted hardtop color doesn't match the rest of the plastic parts.

Not sure if anyone has picked up on the note that came from Ford stating that they will offer black roof as an option for late delivery 2021 model..... FOR THE WT AND FE........only...period!
So any other paint option will be 2022 model
Do I have it wrong?

The MIC hard top will work ok for me, at lest for now. But, I really want the modular black hard top. Both for the aesthetics and for the removable windows. I can imagine all kinds of possibilities from the aftermarket for the removable window openings. Solid panels for more privacy; Integrated storage accessible from the interior; Mounting plates for external accessories; ...etc.

I this holds true there's going to be not angry people but infuriating people who think that they can get a black roof, late delivery on anything other than a WT or FE.

Maybe a stupid question; but, is the solid rear (where a window should be) the standard we're going to get? Maybe, I'm the minority - but, I would like a window in that cargo area...
