This is the first time I've seen this picture. The Bronco looks so tiny here... F-150s aren't THAT big to begin with and the Bronco looks like a side x side.

Oh and to stay relevant to the thread, I don't mind the MIC top. Of course I wish it was black as it would look way better and more uniform. The gray works until I can get the modular or a black MIC in a year or 2.

I really don't care how light or dark the grey is so long as they all match. Full disclosure I'm going with Iconic Silver which is basically a metallic grey anyway.

That is now the one bad part of the OBX, the flares and mirrors are painted the color of the car! Dang, too many choices with so many bad ones to avoid!

I'm hoping this is true, and it makes sense. I am not an expert in plastic injection molding, but it could be as simple as just starting with raw plastic resin material that is a different color. The manufacturing process is the same, the molds are the same, just start with a different color and you get a different resulting color. If the tops have not already been manufactured (which they almost certainly have not) then it could be a very easy change to make.

I spent 8 years in injection molding. Colorant is mixed in with the resin. Different colors and concentrations of color can affect things like shrinkage, warping, etc. The process may need to be adjusted slightly to counteract these things but it's not the first rodeo for the company making the tops. Ford could make black tops in very short order if they chose to.

There is the roof as photographed on a dreary overcast Seattle day. It was quite bright and presented this way in person and on camera.

Plus the yellow accents are hideous.

I think that in the end all trim pieces will be a dark gray (or black)and match each other. At least I hope thats the case.

Ford has stated that the grey MIC will be the only hardtop at launch....

I mentioned this in the Badlands thread - if you did yellow brake calipers it would bring the exterior together with the yellow accent on the inside (as well as the BL badge).

Call it what you will. The CG MIC top is like a chameleon, IMHO. Plenty of contrast with AMB which works well for my taste.

My only question is why? Why did Ford offer this in gray in the first place? I didn’t hate it until I noticed it doesn’t match anything! Now I can’t unsee it!!

Yea it's dark gray, but at least it appears all the plastics match in dark grayness.

So I’ve been reading up on the hard tops and have a question. There have been comments that a panel Can be added behind the rear seats with a cover to act as a trunk. Is this an accessory that will be available eventually?

I haven’t seen much discussion. This option with a Bimini canvas top seems like a great summer option. I know, it’s been discussed somewhere, but I read pages and pages today and didn’t find anything conclusive.
