Edmunds has done a comparison of the Bronco, Defender, and Wrangler. It's supposed to just be a style comparison, but they do make some mention of capability. They also have some other videos I just watched which compare currently available vehicles in capability, and again the Bronco is mentioned.

I honestly don’t understand how people cross-shop the Bronco and the Defender.

Totally different design briefs, target markets, dealer availability, and associated expense.

The Bronco is going to be waaaay closer to the Jeep than the Defender when it comes to ownership experience.
Everyone seems to act like the New Defender is a $70,000 rig. You can spec the 2-door New Defender 90 with a 4-cyl, steel wheels, and cloth interior for mid $40s.

Okkkkkaaaaayyyyyy

But I’m going for a 4-door badlands.

The equivalent Defender is a $70k rig.

It's certainly more money but I don't see how you get to $70k. What specific Badlands-type option boxes are you checking on a Defender 90 to get that high?

I did my build on a 4 door badlands and came up with $58,000 and did a 4 door Defender and it was $70,600 and I still didn't get the leather seats. But hey, if you can get a Defender comparably equipped for same price as a Bronco go for it.
I was considering one that was mid 50’s. Ended up getting my deposit back and not going through with it today though. Decided I wanna see how this bronco thing turns out.

The main thing for me is wind/road noise. If you have to drive all day to get to the trails, it's nice to have a quiet truck. Even in day to day use, it sucks not to be able to talk on the phone, or have to crank up the radio every second. Plus the interior doesn't have any mis-matched color highlights.

the roof comes off on one and it doesn't on the other- that's why it's not something i would cross shop. there's only one other such vehicle with a removable top and i def would never buy one of those

I like the Superchaged V6 in it, but other than that, I'd have to stick with the Bronco, since I wanna row my own gears and actually afford it.

If anything though, be Pimptastic if my dad got a defender, then I'll find somewhere fun for us to offroad together
The Defender has neither a V6 or a supercharger

False. Optional engine: "Select the range-topping 395-hp P400 six-cylinder engine, and we expect the 90 to dispatch the zero-to-60-mph benchmark in just 6.0 seconds, continuing to an electronically limited top speed of 120 mph."

Goblue explained it before I did, but are you saying its an inline 6 or are you unaware of the optional engine?

My Bronco's estimated price is $67,557. That buys a pretty nice Defender. It's up in the air at this point.
