The GVWR thing is just complete BS on Ford's part. There is no way a suspension or transmission choice should ever exceed GVWR. It's just ridiculous. Of course that would go hand in hand with the horribly low tow rating.

Ford should be ashamed of this fiasco.
2.7 10 speed power train has a 9000 lb tow rating on an F150. I'm ordering a base and can't get a hitch or running boards. They're pretty basic, it's not as if I'm trying to add heated rich Corinthian leather seats...

Right, and the new Ranger with the 2.3 has a 7500 tow rating. Its absurd that the Bronco is hamstrung with half the rating.

Matches the Jeep. Apparently they decided to not bother to make it a priority to exceed Fiat in this area...

All,

I suspect Ford will work out the kinks in B&P, but I suggest it would be good to identify these discrepancies (glitches, conflicts in selecting options/packages among trim level, etc..) in hopes that improvements can be brought about more quickly.

Please list your substantiated gripe/s in a concise thought like, “Unable to select manual transmission when Sasquatch Package is selected in any trim level“, or “Can’t get power seats without leather trimmed seats” Some of these points may legitimate issues with the B&P, some are just gripes about option limitations.

MODS, if you care to consider consolidating this in another sub-forum, making it a sticky note, or deleting it altogether please go ahead.

Edit: Thanks to Jayhawkco for compiling the following...

All Trims
Automatic Transmission on a 2.7L has no price
Roof Rails with Crossbar not allowed with Sasquatch
Sound Deadening Headliner not allowed with Sasquatch
Paint Protection Film not allowed on 2.7L
Brush Guard not allowed on 2.7L
No Mid Package allowed with a manual transmission
Wireless Charging Pad listed as an option in both the High and Lux packages
Yakima Light Brackets necessitates Yakima Extra Large Basket, but makes you remove it
2 Door model's rear seat description is incorrect (should be 50/50 not 60/40)
Only one light fixture is allowed (disallowing Pod Lights and Light Bar)
No dual top options available
Big Bend
Adding Mid Package adds Automatic Transmission at no price
Advanced 4x4 mandates Sasquatch package when other trims do not
Heated seats shown as included with Sandstone seats, but requires Mid Package
Outer Banks
Roast Leather Seats listed as not coming with power seating
Black Diamond
No price listed on Advanced 4x4 but does charge $795
Badlands/Black Diamond
Rock Rails shown as option for 4 door models but should be included in standard package
Badlands
Roof Rails with Crossbar not allowed with 2.7L
Sound Deadening Headliner not allowed with 2.7L
First Edition
Towing Package not able to be added to the 4-door
Black Diamond - Rock rails not included in standard package for 2 door model. B&P program requires rails be purchased separately.

All painted tops (black and body color) are slated for 2022 according to a Ford FAQ I saw somewhere.

Why can’t you add the signature light package to the Black Diamond trim? I don’t want to have to pay $3000 more for the Badlands just for the light package!
That is intentional, if they made all features available across all trims, what is the reason for trims?

Have you ever researched OEM signature lighting on other Fords?
LED Head Lamps - 1600 MSRP or 1180 discounted each.
LED Tail Lamps - 994 MSRP or 703 discounted each.
So over $3766 alone. Crazy I know, but true.

@PhoenixM3 anyone mention that the '360' interior view takes you to the Bronco Sport interior?

Happening to me on a 4 door Wildtrak when I add the Tow package
Yes Sir. A few times already.

Hmmm. They’re listed as standard features on B&P. Which other options did you select? Let me poke around a bit. I want a 4 door BD So I’m farting around with mine too.

Edit, yep it shows rock rails as an accessory for $595.

Yeah, I believe only soft top and MIC are currently available on B&P.

Tow rating is not so simple -- shorter wheelbase, higher center of gravity, brake size limited by wheel size, brake heat absorption/dissipation capacity, wheel and tire size (large heavy wheels place a surprisingly high load on the brakes), etc., etc. -- there is a *lot* that goes into tow rating.

I would have been surprised/highly skeptical if the Bronco's tow rating was more than 5000 lb.

Would I like more than 3500? Sure -- 4500-5000 would nice. But I wasn't expecting Ranger or F-150 capacity. If you want to *safely* tow 7500 lb. or more, a vehicle like a Bronco or a Jeep Wrangler ain't the way to go.

Also, the softly sprung suspension does not lend well to higher tow ratings. I learned this in the Jeep forums when the JL came out and everyone was disappointed. The Broncos will likely be able to easily pull a 5klb load, but probably not safely.

Mike Levine was right, this was done by rock stars. I was rightfully concerned when he stated that. I was hoping they would put their best people on this but it seems those individuals have all been hired by the video game industry. I thought there was going to be a duel body colored top option available. And a manual squatch option. The rock stars must have partying too hard and forgot about those!
