Not a great rating, but better than the Wrangler.
Predicted reliability an issue cited - go figure!

CR is good for some things and not so great for others. Overall they’ve lost some credibility for me over the past few years. The Murano and Blazer are in the top 3? Really?
They do okay with rating appliances though.

Chevy Blazer with the highest rating - Hard No.
I pulled up to a red light. When looking down, I saw one beside me. I laughed at how bad Chevy screwed up on that one. If they would have taken the same design approach as Ford, it would have made for some interesting decisions. Instead it looks like a Toyota Rav 4 or something.

Honestly... the fact that it rates higher in its first year than a vehicle that has been on the market for decades (and is the primary competitor) is pretty good.

BUT, it's only been in production for a little over half a year at this point, so probably too early to get a good feel for it. Need at least 3-5 years to be able to draw any real conclusions... ya know... after that factory bumper-to-bumper ends. ;)

Blazer looks like a Camaro suppository.

No one buys an open air midsize 4x4 as a carefully considered, analytically solid purchase.
Spot on! I've come to terms with the fact this is not a rational purchase.

The GX and 4Runner must be so reliable in part because the design hasn't changed in 20 years. With the GX in particular, that Toyota reliability is paid for at the pump with a V8 drinking premium gas at a 15mpg clip!

The Blazer is an absolute travesty when you compare it to a K5 Blazer of the 70's and 80's.

Hmm, similar to Bronco thirst. Wonder if it will be as reliable 😭

CR reports have been suspect a long time for me. I used to work in electronics. A customer would come in and say "I want this model, CR says it's the best". I would have pretty deep experience with the models and brands. Sometimes I agreed, often I not only disagreed, it was flat out a bad model or bad value. They can only test so much and for so long. It also contains biases, even if they work to limit them.

Well, except for about 90% of the people on B6G...

OMG! I get wet when I open the door!
The people who complain about trucks as they've spent the last 30 years buying nothing but trucks, have both cursed the truck and driven improvements to trucks - better rides, more choices, but they really need a Lincoln hard top derivative of the Bronco for those who still complain the ride is too bumpy, else they dilute the character purists demand in the actual Bronco/Flexpedition...

When I was researching a GX, I read they require premium fuel. While Ford gives the owner the option for either 87 or 91 octane.

Short answer, no way the Bronco is as reliable...it also isn't nearly as thirsty as a GX
