When I was researching a GX, I read they require premium fuel. While Ford gives the owner the option for either 87 or 91 octane.

Short answer, no way the Bronco is as reliable...it also isn't nearly as thirsty as a GX
MY GX wasn't really that bad. I could manage 22mpg high and 17 city most of the time

Not a great rating, but better than the Wrangler.
Predicted reliability an issue cited - go figure!

I think that as ratings go up, a vehicle becomes less fun.

So, the safety/fun index is inverse. This also = I DON'T CARE!

My Bronco will be for wheeling. If I wanted to feel like I were driving in a bubble, I'd get a Volvo, or a Blazer I guess. I dunno, can't tell a difference...... :cautious:

The vehicles at the top of the list are purchased by people who eagerly await the cold embrace of death and endeavor to make your life as miserable as they've made theirs.
Many of us, in polite company, refer to them as senator, speaker, representative, president, vice president, proctologist, or "yes, dear..."

Just attached a PDF to the original post that is more readable than the JPGs...

CR lost all credibility when they smeared the Samurai over 3 decades ago.
Damn straight. Totally proven to be a sham, just to hurt the brand, because Jeep was getting all butthurt.

A lot of truth to the above (and I am a subscriber!)

Look, CR has some value for certain things and its a useful publication. But their auto "ratings" are on criteria that matter to those that buy Camrys and Subarus (again, we have a Subaru!). If someone is buying a 4 door Bronco as a substitute for a Honda Odyssey for a family's only vehicle, they are probably making a bad choice...Most of us buying these understand what we are buying (fun, capability, probably good resale value, and lets, be honest, unbelievable coolness) and what we are not getting in terms of daily drive refinement, economy and potential reliability.

I pulled up to a red light. When looking down, I saw one beside me. I laughed at how bad Chevy screwed up on that one. If they would have taken the same design approach as Ford, it would have made for some interesting decisions. Instead it looks like a Toyota Rav 4 or something.
To me it looks as if the design was influenced by a minivan as opposed to a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Obviously, Chevy went after a different market segment, which is fine. I hope they do well.
