The way I read it goes manual/auto, from stripped to fully loaded.
Of course. I didn't see the auto/manual in brackets. ??
That's a big spread.
Looks like Squatch V6 and auto add a lot of baggage.

I think they messed up the chart. If you switch 4957/4977 with 4499/4509, it all makes
much more sense. Doing that yields.

2.3 auto adds 180 over man
4 door base adds 638 lbs over 2 door base
2.7 2dr, loaded with everything is only 181 lbs more than stripped 2.3 man 4 door.

2.7 loaded 4 door is only 500 lbs lighter than my 79, with full EXO, cast iron 400 and TC, 800 lbs of 43" stickies/Staz wheels, 1.5 ton mogs (I did remove the doors, TG, and roof :)).
No need to reply and tell me all the safety stuff, etc the new one has. I get it, was
just a note to myself that building one of these newer rigs is not going to be any
lighter than what I have now (2 dr wheelbase is way too short for my purposes).

About a 1,000 pounds heavier than a Wrangler and about 1,500 pounds heavier than my '00 4Runner. Very sad, and maybe a deal killer for towing behind my little motor home.

This thing is chunky. Significantly heavier than a Wrangler in any given level of equipment. Even allowing for the heavier 35" wheel/tire package, if a 2 door BadSquatch comes in over 5000lbs vs a 2 door Rubicon that comes in at a bit over 4000...that's pretty bad.

I'm pretty disappointed with that. The Raptor will probably be even heavier still... ouch.

They must have really messed it up then because the weights with the 2.7 seem to indicate the 4 door is only 2-300lbs heavier...which incidentally is about the same difference as a 2 vs 4 door wrangler.

I think the chart is correct

What sucks is Ford took lazy approach and put the same Curb Wt. data (ranges) in all the Trims. So you cannot easily determine say how much the Badlands adds over BD with 2-door manual. That would be useful to know.

I am definitely going manual 4-door, so base might be the best match. Keep it lighter, which offsets a lower-powered-motor significantly.

I think the chart is correct
Then if left as-is, it puts base 2dr to base 4 dr @ 180 lbs?
Anyway, if correct, the fact that some 4 banger 2 doors could be 5K,
as much as an FSB, is kind of crazy.

And then the most loaded of 2.7, 4 doors is only 300 lbs more than the most loaded 2 dr 2.3?
The more I look at that chart, the more I don't understand it.

My xterra weighs over 4900lbs now w/ its mods and even here in Denver (with the ~15% loss of power due to altitude) it has more than enough power. The only issue I ever have with it is on i-70 hills (which are higher altitude than denver). The bronco should do well up here due to turbos since they lose a lot less power due to altitude, and have more power to begin with on both engine sizes.

Not a power issue as much as an issue climbing really steep ledges (not in the sand paper out west, you can wheel a crown vic out there) and even dragging yourself over terrain. Seen many lighter buggies drag a diff along for quite a ways over large rocks, with one wheel not even on the ground. Much harder @ 5-6000 lbs (I can easily see some built 4 doors @ 6K, UGH!!)
