Manual trans are better in snowy conditions too since complete control over gear and rpm. And I don't drive anywhere with traffic so I have fun shifting gears since all country roads. YMMV

You couldnāt be more correct. Especially in these circumstances:Because any car with a manual transmission is more fun and engaging than itās automatic version. Its as simple as that.
Iām sure heās talking about rowing through the gears and winding it up and having fun!You couldnāt be more correct. Especially in these circumstances:
Heavy stop and go traffic
Parking lots
Driving in snow and ice
Operating any controls
Needing to drive with one hand
Steering and shifting at same time is great fun
Starting on steep grades
Drag racing
Drinking/eating
Cruise control?
Road racing
Emergency situations
Iām sure thereās a few moreā¦
Really? Ok. Iām pretty sure Iāve done all of those and a few more with a manual transmission. You couldnāt be more correct. Especially in these circumstances:

No, I mean a paddle shifted manual such as I had in my BMW M5 (SMG)ā¦You mean paddle shifted automatic
I miss having a column shift. Iām always looking for a good one to teach my kids on.I learned to drive on one of these, my first vehicle was a 69 Bronco, I think I was tramautize by the 3 on the tree and tried to stick with automatic ever since.
I love manuals but I ordered an auto. My BMW has manual shift as well as paddles. I love all the options I have for driving so it works out great for me. I do drive my sons e30 manual sometimes and I love it, but not in bad traffic, just local driving. All that being said, its personal preference, plain and simple. Plus there's the fact that manuals are not easy to come by anymore and I get it. And if I could buy my 1980 911sc tractor back I would in a heartbeat.Curious why a manual is so important. I know, some people like stick shift trans, but why in a Bronco? Do you get a stick in all of your other cars and trucks? Not trying to start a stick vs auto debate (but a good discussion is fine), but I've seen so many comments about a manual I'm wonder what folks reasoning is.
Part of my question is that for almost ever there has been a perception that a manual is better off road. However, this perception is almost entirely folks who have little off road experience. Experience shows that an auto has many advantages over a stick off road. So, what the heck, why do so many folks want a stick Bronco?
