@Pixel R do you have an outer banks? It might be an incompatibility with the plastic rear bumper. Mine is steel with sensors it's open where the bolts hit in your picture. I have the same Curt Hitch on my black diamond.

I do think the bolts provided by curt are longer than needed. I'd either contact Curt or just go to the hardware store and buy some shorter grade 8 bolts.

Edit:. Looking at the pics again I see the issue with the hitch not fitting on the cross member. Can you get measurements of both the hitch opening and cross member? Then someone could compare to a working setup to see where the issue lies. Wonder if the cross members are different on the outer banks and not accounted for by curt 🤷

I'd just buy some shorter grade 8 bolts.
Looks like you've got the correct hitch but your bumper won't allow the long bolts. Buy some shorter bolts and you should be good to go.

I bet bolts are good when hitch is on.
i would put floor jack under hitch and jack it up probably will go on.

I bet bolts are good when hitch is on.

I thought about it, but another issue is, the hitch cannot go all the way.

Yes I do have an OBX. I have the sensor but plastic bumper which is not open. Yes the hitch is not fitting as well.
