Custom Paint Jobs?

I’ve been tossing around the idea of getting my OBX SAS custom painted pretty much ASAP (when/if it ever arrives). I don’t dislike the stock colors offered, but they’re just not what I really want (partial to retro 80’s brown palettes).
Anyone else planning on going custom with the paint right out of the gate? Care to share your ideas?

Agree 100%, wrapping would be a lot cheaper than a full paint job and you can keep changing it up if you want.

I'm going to put a white vinyl stripe along the side for that old school look.

Yeah yeah I know its a Chevy but it was the first on Google. White top will depend on the success of others or I'll buy it in a few years.

You’ll need to check your local guys about pricing. Make sure you see some of their work first. I’ve had a few cars done in the past. Reputation matters.

This is the route I’m thinking.

I cant even imagine taking a brand new vehicle in and repainting it. For a full repaint from a reputable shop probably looking 10 to 15k minimum.

Like others said a wrap would much cheaper

I’m not thinking of painting it, but I am planning on vinyl wrapping it; well, adding some decaling to it. I will be removing the “fridge magnet“ badging on the sides, and thinking of doing a partial matte-black hood decal with “Badlands” subtly on it. I think it’ll look good (I like the matte black against a dark colour vehicle look). It’ll also help with hood glare from lights, like on my current Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk.

I was quoted 1200.00 bucks to paint the top any color I wanted. The body shop said they would have to sand the top quite a bit but said I’d be happy.

Planning on kevlar coating and painting and one or two panels at a time... fits my budget and really easier with the fenders and doors designed to take off. Can't wait to see my friend's expression at his body and paint shop when I show up with my first two fenders.

No local guys here, I’m guessing Tulsa would be. The closest place but I don’t hav a clue what a good price would be that’s why I was asking.

Me too. White Line-X with UV protectant. Fender flares and grill to match.
