Cyber Orange 2021 Ranger paint thoughts and example pics

A Quad Cab truck that is CO is a bit too much orange. The mustang post with the strips breaks up the orange. I think with the Bronco a 2 door CO will be able to offset too much orange, while a 4 door may need some decals to even it out. Just my opinion.

I do plan on getting a 2 Door CO .

Ford’s prices for colors are pretty reasonable. Granted you can get a lot of colors at no additional charge, but $595 isn’t bad at all IMO.

I agree. CO is a tri-coat. Of course it's gonna cost more!

I am literally right there with ya OP. I went, today actually, to the the Ford dealership in Olathe, KS - on my way home from work. It was about 5:20 pm. The sun was still out but not shining on the vehicles. I liked the color, it was bright and stood out. With the sun not shining directly on it I thought that it looked like a flat pale orange. I said to myself, “it does look like a school bus, or construction vehicle”. Like a Tonka truck! Then I looked very close and spied all the beautiful gold flake that wasn’t immediately evident at first glance. I knew the flake was there from all of the pics of Broncos I had seen, but had to look close to spot it. I imagine in the sun the color absolutely shines and sparkles.

Overall my impression was that it was a very nice color. I like the color, and could see myself with it, but I didn’t get the “have to have it” feeling like I got with area 51 when I saw it in person.

On the way out of the dealership I broke my neck on the velocity blue Ranger. If you haven’t seen any of the colors in person, you really need to go do it. Seeing them in person will change your perspective.

I'm afraid this is a color that won't age well. One of those colors that looks good initially but you regret a year or two later. It's a no for me.

Thats what has always held me up from getting an out there color. Like I love orange (real orange like competition orange lol) but could I live with it every day for years

it's one of those oranges that needs to have a yellow car next to it to not be called yellow

Mustang U3 Grabber Orange (2007-09) is the same. I had to concentrate to decide which one I was looking at, if it was the Grabber Orange or Screaming Yellow lol. Finally I realized I only had the issue with the orange, I knew the yellow was yellow lol.

Now if only we could get Ledgend Lime....

I think some have missed my text comments- the pictures shown are tricky. My iphone 12 Pro Max camera picked up more orange than my eye really saw in person. My eye’s first impression was that the color was a metallic version of work truck yellow.

Basically if you’ve seen this color- you’ve seen Cyber Orange without the flake in it.

Definitely not a bad thing, just trying to get my impression across

I think I understand your point - however I have 1 concern.

Did you only see this Ranger inside on a showroom floor?

If so - I'm worried that your assessment may not apply to most real-world perceptions of the color.

Interior showroom lighting is vastly different than natural spectrum sunlight. This can easily be demonstrated with other shades of yellow paint.

I just got done painting a "Piper Cub" model airplane. Inside the shop, my paint appeared VERY yellow. Immediately when taken outside, you clearly perceive more orange.

So, I generally agree with your observations, but believe in daily life does not represent what you will see outside. Even if there was natural light entering the showroom the primary light color will be very white and harsh.

I have yet to see anything that makes my like Cyber Orange better than Saber. Too yellow for me.

We will have to agree to disagree There's just too much fluorescent lighting in there to not have a significant impact. I could be wrong!

Just posting this for anyone else like me on the fence about Cyber Orange.

When I saw the orange in the reveal video, I fell IN LOVE with the color they showed.

I finally tracked down a Ranger in CO to see in Broomfield, Colorado over at Sill-TerHar Morors (it’s on the Ford show floor if you live in the area)

Initial impression- it’s absolutely yellow. If I saw the color on the street, there’s a 0% chance I would have called it orange. In certain light, it does have a slightly orange twinge to the yellow. It reminds me of Tonka truck paint (not in a bad way, loved Tonka trucks)

The pics I took look more orange than my eye was picking up in person in the showroom. The sun was shining in the passenger side, and it did bring a little more of the golden out to the naked eye.

Having said all of that that, I don’t dislike yellow. It’s just not anything like the marketing material photos or reveal video. It’s a cool color. It’s got cool metal flake that shows a ton on the sharp curves, and has a lot of depth. I may still get CO, but 100% will have the car called yellow any time someone needs to describe it

This color is freakin BEAUTIFUL and has been my choice since day one! CAN A FORD REP OR BRONCO6g ANSWER A QUESTION (next video maybe): If we order a 2021 Cyber Orange and due to Dealer allocations, ours is not built in a timely manner and we get pushed into a 2022 Model and CYBER ORANGE is not offered for 2022 models....THEN WHAT?! Are we just out of luck on this color? I would appreciate a answer from someone that really knows. Thank you.

add to that there's going to be some UV filtering and tint to the showroom windows as well.

Now thats an orange I would have gotten in an instant. Cyber Orange was a big disappointment to me, I really wanted to like it/get it.
