This really isn't a Bronco versus the competition since this 1st edition is so much more capable than my 4runner.. But I was pleasantly surprised to see that my 4runner was not that miniscule when parked side-by-side to the 1st edition.

I was originally on the preorder list for the Bronco but canceled after I found out the transmission for the one I had on reservation was made in China.. That really put me off this was last year so I started looking for a replacement vehicle and ended up with the 4 runner.

Having said all that I really wish I had kept my reservation and purchaed an automatic Bronco. However I am more than happy with my Toyota for the time being not to mention it will probably outlive me.

My 4runner has an upgraded suspension but nothing exaggerated it is equivalent to a stock TRD Pro suspension as far as height goes stock size wheels and tires and it doesn't look too shabby next to the Bronco I was pleasantly surprised what do you think?

I tried to capture pictures from angles showing height comparison clearance and tire sizes

There's nothing wrong with a 4Runner IMHO. My neighbor has one, and it's a good looking ride. I was close to getting one before the Bronco was announced. Thanks for the pics. It's always good to be able to compare the competition to the Bronco.

Ok, but the money you paid for your 4runner goes to a Japanese corporation. 🤔

To each their own though, pop the top off the 4runner and enjoy your day!

Nice ride! I was tempted by the 4 runner and Tacoma, but when I heard there was a complete redesign coming in 22 (23?) that kinda made me forget about them. I am anxious to see what the new 4 runner will look like, though! I bet it will be cool AF.

Strange thread...OP complains about a Chinese transmission in the Bronco then talks about his Japanese branded 4Runner. Hate to break it to you but there's many Chinese parts in every "American Made" vehicle. I could care less to be honest.

Sold my 15' 4Runner Trail in anticipation of the Bronco a few months back. It was a great vehicle and fairly large. Not surprised to see it comparable in size to the Bronco. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'd be driving a 4Runner right now if there was an option to remove the top and doors. Since there's not, I'll stick with a Wrangler or potentially in the future of 2045, a Bronco.

Me too except that was back when the re design was expected in '18, then "19, then '20, and on. I think '23 might be the year.

Not sure what the OP a looking for but, I’ll try my best.

Nice conciliation prize!

Love your wife’s truck!

Is that a 2016 4 Runner?

Seriously though, you came to B6G with your 4 Runner parked next to a Bronco. I had to look at the pics twice to notice your ride. Solid vehicle but not exciting like the Bronco. Good luck with it.

Toyota makes a good product BUT the design and looks of the Bronco blows it out of the water! The 4-Runner looks contrived and cheezie, and looks like every other Toyota and Honda on the road. What's with those fake exaggerated gill slots below the headlights? I know looks are subjective -- but holy crap does anybody think that looks good?

Let me see, 🤔 should I keep my order for a US built vehicle that is assembled by fellow Americans, utilizes the newest in off-road technology, that may have a Chinese supplied transmission, or purchase a Japanese built vehicle that MAY also have some Chinese content with older technology and styling? Tough Decision

Edit: The Bronco 7 -speed manual is built in China, not the 10 speed automatic. So I assume you have a manual in that 4-Runner right?
