I saw some people post concerning issues after an update. I have access to FDRS and can update if I see the recent update hasn’t induced any/more issues. So, I have automatic updates turned off. And, I got the notice on the update on my Ford Pass, my e-mail and in the rig. Ugh. And now CarPlay is VERY wonky. Sigh. How can it update if I have that toggled off.

Chiming in. I've had auto updates ON always. It was only until the recent 4.2.2 updates that I have had any software problems. The only other recent change is Procal tune.
-Back-up camera image occasionally freezes for 5+ seconds after shifting to reverse.
- Android Auto is a buggy mess now (empty grey squares where apps should be open). General lag. Spotify is the worst performing app after the update.
- Screen has gone black and restarted by itself at least once while I was driving.

Thanks Rockstars!

My Apple Carplay seems to be connecting much better now and staying connected since I received the 4.2.2 update next week. So more surprised that I am not only not having issues but improved performance, which is usually not the case.

Sounds like they already have a 4.2.3 out now. The Bronco is turning into a cell phone app that gets weekly updates just to justify job security :ROFLMAO:

for the last three days or so I've been only getting the generic grey screen (like the radio screen).

Sometimes I get the full color Pandora, other times the grey screen and sometimes no info, just the music playing.
Just to be clear, the last sentence is what use to happen before the update, depending on if the phone was playing before the system started up would determine which screen I'd get. Pandora playing first and then the Bronco started, I'd normally but not always, get the full color Pandora screen, start/open the streaming after the while the Bronco is running, and I'd get nothing screen wise and sometimes I'd get music sometimes the connection failed and I'd have to turn off the Bronco and restart to get a connection.

Now after the update, I only get the grey screen and generic buttons, but it seems to start and play Pandora more consistently. I don't have the little mic icon that allows me to say "text so&so" and now I have to now start phone functions from my phone or search a menu.

Is that what I reading above in other posts? Will a reset of the system fix this? Or, is this a by product of them getting the system to link up better and we have to wait for another update to get those features back?

IOS17 has made some nice changes to CarPlay. I'm happy with that. Though I got 4.2.2 and I installed IOS17 on the same day. For whatever reason I randomly decided to also re-enable wireless carplay and it seemed to work pretty nicely.

Did you loose the ability to move the dimming slider all the way to the left for the center display while night? Happened to my 22 Badlands around the same time as 4.2.2 downloaded.
