I have no issues with people selling dash cams, I've almost pulled the trigger on buying one, more than once.

But this over the top scare tactic is a bit ridiculous.

Just my opinion🤔

P.S.
Wondering if this is how they market bullet proof vests, but then again, I've never actually seen a commercial for Kevlar.

The expense is of little concern to me but the hassle of setting up and dealing with one is.
eh. It's not rocket science. I have a cheap one, does the job. And when I got the Bronco, the very first mod was the wire harness that taps into the autodimming mirror to bring power out to the dashcam. Three minutes and done.

The only "maintenance" required is putting in a fresh microSD card every now and then.

Understood. I still prefer to not have any camera concerns or the extra clutter of having one in my vehicle... especially since it has proven extremely unlikely to ever come in handy.

I do enjoy watching DC videos on Youtube and consider it educational for avoiding crashes. I've also noticed some cammers become quite self righteous and even cause (or allow) crashes when they could have avoided it just because "I have you on camera A-H".

hmmmm. Do tell.

But since it's practically free, why not have one for those times it does come in handy?

Ah. You don't want to become one of those.

I think it’s like having a witness in your vehicle with you at all times. Peace of mind for me I like having my mirror camera. Has a parking mode too so you can leave it recording with the vehicle turned off if you wanted.

No Clutter here

My dashcam cost $30 - then another $30 for the power adaptor harness to the mirror. Then 2nd dashcam at rear window - another $30. There used the 12v adaptor in the back

Any good Bronco specific videos out there for easy installation? I am not good at it normally, but if I watch a good video I become a wizard of sorts.

They are super easy to install. Here’s how you hardwire one.

They're really not that obtrusive, we mount ours down low just above the dash on the 'suction cup' mount - ours are forward-facing only, should probably invest in a rear-facing. I could do better about hiding the wire but it's one short wire down to a USB plug-in, and leaving the extra tied up keeps things pretty clean.

I get what you're saying, we haven't needed ours yet. But given that I am on the road an average of 4 hours a day, 5 days a week, it's not really an 'if,' but rather a statistical 'when' it comes in handy. In which case it's going to MORE than pay for itself.

I told in my initial post in this thread. 47 years of never having an incident where cam footage would have been helpful for anything. This seems about as much "exetremely unlikely" proof that one could have.

I'm glad others like and use them. It's also nice to see the latest cams and installations. I do enjoy watching some of the videos. Carry on!

Or stealth it. Invisible and indistinguishable from stock. FitcamX.

Order front and rear, because for some reason you can't order the rear separately.

An entertaining way to squander an hour or so of on-line time is to search "Russian dash cam crash videos." You'll find lots of compilations, fantastic crashes. I read somewhere, can't verify, that Russians are required to carry them. Or maybe it's just good self-defense?

Several years ago there was a major meteorite hit in Russia. Because of prevalence of dashcams, scientists were able to get lots of very precise trajectory and video data on the landing.

My favorite Russia dashcam episode was a typical rear-end crash, not serious damage. The victim (guy who got rear-ended) calmly got out of his car, walked up to the impacting vehicle, unloaded a semi-automatic into the guy's radiator, got back in his car, and drove off.
