So I just installed a Dashcam but it’s kind of blocking the mirror light sensor so what it does is when driving the mirror change from almost black thinking it’s night, to normal, in a matter of seconds back and forth.

Anyone has got a solution?

Edit:

So adding a little chrome vinyl to the back of the dash cam reflects light back to the sensor and it solved the issue.

Oh I don't know ... Move the dash cam?
Yeah sure right in front of my eyes driving sounds pretty good!
That’s the spot I want it to be.
I’ll put a mirror vinyl on it to reflect the light and see if it works but I was wondering if others had ideas

Relocate it towards the passenger side and down

The light sensor is actually in the box, the dash cam is not interfereing with it. I have had this bug a few times on my rig, it seems to sort itself out after a few minutes.

I always stuck my dashcams infront of the mirror, I don't want some douche cop saying it's obstructing my view like they do with air fresheners.

My dashcam is in almost the same location, and does not affect the mirror dimmer at all like you describe — are you sure you didn’t mess up the wiring if you tapped into the back of the mirror housing for power?

I used the battery both the mirror wiring. My Dashcam is very big and maybe that’s why it covers the mirror dimmer more I don’t know

Yeah my Garmin 66W appears to be thicker but much smaller width and height wise than your dash cam. That could be it — is there no way to position it such that it exposes more of the mirror sensor?

This is where the installation pros locate the dashcam for Bronco I guess

Get a different smaller dashcam? No issues here with the setup I installed on the wife’s Bronco but I also dont think there is a sensor in the back of the bronco mirror. At least in the BL lux.

Wouldn't the mirror dimmer be on the mirror side, so it could dim based on the lights behind you?
