Sorry for starting a new thread, but threads are getting long so I thought it might be good to provide a summary particular for anyone that is new to the issue. We need as many people as possible to participate in letting Ford know our dissatisfaction. They need to know our numbers are large. Keep putting on the pressure until Ford changes the allocation formula. Make it a daily routine to pester Ford on social media, call customer support more than once, and send multiple snail mails.

What happened?
For those that have been off the grid for the last week, the ’22 allocation formula is:

50% Overall Ford sales history for past 3 years
25% 2021 Bronco allocations
25% Bronco Sport % sales last year

The only number that is impacted by the number of orders is the middle one and that is only because 50% of the 2021 Bronco allocation was based on the number of orders. You can’t calculate the actual allocation from these, but they are used to determine the relative allocation between dealers.

What does the mean to you?

The allocation formula means Ford will no longer be fulfilling all orders before dealer stock. If you ordered from a dealer who has more orders than their market share in overall sales, your order will be delayed. This will hit customers at Granger, Stephens, and others particularly hard, but it will impact any dealer that has garnered more Bronco orders than their overall historical market share of Ford sales. These are dealers that have embraced the Bronco, answered our questions, and earned our trust such that we choose to place an order with them.

What can be done?

Tweet your dissatisfaction. Tag @mrlevine, @jimfarley98. Include the hashtag #ReservationsoverAllocations. Mike Levine reads many of these, and while he has gone silent on the allocation issue, I suspect he is still monitoring them.

If you see tweets you like from others, retweet them, and comment on them. Used the same tagging and hashtags.

I feel like the reservation holders have been put through a lot of b.s. by @fordmotorcompany throughout this whole process, but this has to be the worst.

The biggest slap in the face is the 50% weighted 3 years of prior sales. This is clearly targeted at small dealers that made great deals for the Bronco.

You'd think Ford would want to reward them because without those dealers, and their efforts, Ford would probably be selling a lot less Broncos.

This is great! And needed - thanks Dave...we need to be organized. One thing to add to this is getting the story out to media outlets, 4WD & any press & all press possible. What major automotive & 4WD publications come to mind first? When something like this goes viral it does make waves.

Will the MIC still be a constraint in MY22 ?
Does anyone know the soft top take rate ?

What if in MY22 Ford can only build 75% of the MICs needed to fulfill all current orders ?

Then isn’t this new formula more of an allocation shift as opposed to scheme to build stock orders ?

No, it's more of a plot to reward dealerships charging the highest ADM, while screwing over the smaller dealerships that worked hard to get reservations. Not to mention pissing off thousands of would-be customers in the process.

I can't imagine the aftermarket is too happy about this either. Not much money left for upgrades after you pay all that extra to sales managers who are sitting on their butts just waiting for customers to float in, hand over their wallets, and bend over.

And all those Ford Ambassadors must be real proud to represent the Ford brand right now!

The allocation formula rewards the dealers that sell the most overall Ford products. I get it, some dealers have invested heavily on infrastructure to be able to offer that many vehicles. There are pros and cons to it as dealers that want to grow have to do it slowly over time and can't necessarily cherry pick the most popular vehicles. I was well aware of this possibility when I placed my reservation with Granger. My gripe is that they changed the rules which means dealer stock allocations will take precedence over reservations. The easy fix is to prioritize reservations over dealer stock. That way I have a reasonable expectation, not a guarantee, that the vehicle will be a MY2022. At this rate, I'm probably going to be a few years later.

The action I'll be taking if the formula isn't fixed will be buying something else. Unfortunately, I can't wait until 2023/2024 for it or have the patience to beg a company to sell me a car.

Talking points when calling Ford customer service

First off, I am not a lawyer nor do I play one on TV, but there are some people smarter than me that feel we may have some legal standing. We should make sure Ford is aware that folks are considering this option. Here is my highly plagiarized rendition of what those smart people said.

Consider calling Ford's customer service department and explain to them that when you received your reservation the promise was that Ford would build reservations for Broncos before dealer stock. Here is the original Ford FAQ stating just that:

Ford Bronco Day 6: MY22 Allocation Formula – What action can we take? Bronco Reservation FAQs July 2020

Tell Ford that you believe you have a case based upon the recent allocation update that Ford has violated the promise of detrimental reliance, Potentially a statute of fraud, and potentially the universal commercial code.

Then say, that you'd like to pursue an amicable resolution before moving towards contacting your attorney general and avoid any potential litigation.

All this should be done avoiding profanity and in a collected, constructive manner. (This may be the most difficult part.)

Ford goofed and if enough pressure is put on them in the proper manner, they will realize the potential exposure they have and rectify the situation.

Thanks for posting, Dave. Yeah, the "no profanity" part may be tough.

What can be done?

I only plan to keep posting bitchy comments about Ford in threads like this. I’m not really on social media, and I imagine any emails to Ford will just get read for laughs at the next Allocation Committee meeting.
