You'd think salespersons would be more up on the products they will offer. On the other hand, maybe a salesperson doesn't see much value in getting a customer interested in a product, which can't even be purchased until next year. They want to make a sale right now.
Any good dealer should work on building a relationship. I bought my Honda Accord from the most lame salesperson. He was a literal stick in the mud, never going there again.

But my dad bought 4 Chevy's from the same salesman because he first established a relationship. One sale now, or a lifetime of sales later?

I guess my point is this...

A good dealer already has their Bronco Specialist on the payroll. If not they should be in the interview process for the right person. Because when I go to buy... I'll need answers... not to train him about what he is selling.

Remember... It's not just a Bronco... It's a Brand. Ford has tons riding on it.

Agreed. But in the case where there is turnover in salespersons, or where there is pressure to make sales now, cultivating a customer for some 2021 sale might not have as much appeal. But I get what you are saying for a longer term business success.

We were just notified that Ford canceled the Bronco event due to coronavirus concerns. What a bummer. If I get more updates I'll let you guys know.

Here's what the email said:

“While we looked forward to hosting you for our Bronco Brand Immersion and all-new Bronco embargoed technical briefing next week, the safety of our employees, partners and media friends remains paramount. With that in mind, we’ve made the decision to cancel our event due to ongoing coronavirus concerns. We apologize for the inconvenience.

We appreciate your understanding. In the meantime, stay tuned for updates regarding the return of Bronco.”
