That's not how it works.
Yes, it CAN work like that. Whether we like it or not it could happen. And depending on which person and at what time it happens, then the person affected can applaud or complain about it. It is that "Priority" column on some of these order pages we have seen. Some dealers will not use it at all, other dealers will use it to defend their long time customers.

My belief is that the dealers who use it to pretext their long time, early reserved, folks are using it just fine.

You didn't ask them about this before you moved your reservation?
No, I thought my time stamp was the determining factor. My original dealer does not want to negotiate. It did not bother me too much because I thought the reservation was worth something.

I had contacted the dealer I moved to before and moved there today because they committed to invoice pricing. They did not mention "priority" until the email after I moved.

You can prioritize within the order group that has been allocated, I see no way to prioritize beyond the allocation unless they refused to submit the order. They also cannot make late delivery orders come in or be available any sooner.

@alsamrob & @Crimpcap you are allowed 2 dealer switches and you have until 3/19 to get your order placed for a MY21. Do some dealer research and take your time. Nobody gets any prizes for getting their order submitted early.

If only there was a place we could have discussed all of this ahead of time.
Really! What is it about $1000.00 UNDER invoice that is hard to grasp. I ran my numbers last night and I should be about $3200.00 under MSRP. I’m ecstatic about that and rightfully so.

Where's your dealer? That might be worth a road trip

I heard the same thing about being put at the back of the line when I called another dealer I've used before, and asked about possibly switching. Neither dealer I've spoke to seems to know how any of this is supposed to work.

$5,000. 2 separate dealers near doing the same.

chuckling, they went from expecting an extra 5 grand in profit from a rube customer and ended up with (if your reservation was there before Sept 19th, maybe) a black mark against the allocation formula and zero profit. Well done on the dealer switch!

Is the stupid ADM plots and scheming going to die down with later models? I know a shady dealer is a shady dealer, but I can't hope but think after year 1 the ability to use exclusivity will die off.
