My dealership said they had their guys put the plate holder on. It would make sense that it would come from the factory though
I live in NY and got my bronco delivered in NY, a state that requires front plates. The factory did not do it and my dealer called me and asked me if I wanted them to do it and clearly I said no.

Dude those tow shackles are sick! Where'd you get em if you don't mind me asking?
Uber Shackles by GearAmerica. Very high-quality. They have a page on Amazon. 👍

Yeah that sucks but just enjoy that thing

Or are you asking for the 6G member full court press negative online review blast campaign?
Nah just getting a feel for whether my pissed-off-ness is excessive or a reasonable reaction. Thought it would help me decide what tone to use when I email the GM at my dealer.

So far I think I am within normal to be upset about this "surprise" addition to my brand new First Edition. It boils my blood every time I walk up to my vehicle.

Will keep everyone posted what the dealer says. May call Ford directly too

Anyone from Ford or any dealer drilling holes in a $60k+ vehicle w/o owner consent blows my mind. You are well within normal to be upset.

I’m a tech at a Lexus dealer in cali and our service manager makes us drill brackets on every car. No mater what and cars can be 110k. It used to hurt drilling cars now I’m numb to it

Can't blame the dealership, this has been a known thing for 6 months. I asked my dealer to put a note on my order for them not to install the factory front plate holder. If you never told them not to do it I don't think you can come back at them for installing what Ford tells them to on delivery.

I think most customers expect this to be installed on their vehicle. I can't say I blame the dealership for installing this, especially if it was noted on your build sheet. Mine is noted on my build sheet, as a "no cost" front license plate bracket.

I've asked my salesperson to ensure it's not installed, and will follow-up once I get an accurate ETA.

Hopefully they work with you on this though.
This. Nearly everybody I know would be aghast if the dealer handed them the front plate and said "here you go", or charged a fee to add the front plate. It seems like a basic, everyday thing that is done in nearly all vehicles that require front plates.

The OP can be mad, but I don't think the dealership is wrong here.

A license plate is required in front in Maryland, but not when you drive it off the lot or when you take delivery. So make the dealership fix the holes it you didn't ask them to install the license plate holder.
The assumption should be that the front plate will be installed, unless noted otherwise. It is a reasonable assumption that the vehicle comes complete, and that includes a front plate holder.

Your assumption. Obviously not most of us. And who charges a fee to install a license plate? Haha! Are you kidding?

Remove yourself from the the Bronco6g bubble, and think about this industry wide. New cars buyers will absolutely expect that there new car will come with a place to mount a front licence plate. Franky, selling a car without out would be considered incomplete for most buyers.

So when I picked up my First Edition the dealer had drilled 2 holes into the piano black metal of my front grill for their cheap ass license plate holder. Didn't ask me or warn me beforehand. Said they "had to" because a front plate is required in Maryland (tho not in my state.) I am so pissed I can't even talk to them yet. Do I have a case for demanding a new undamaged grill from the dealer? From Ford?
Anyone have any ideas for how to handle this?

Did you ask them not to mount it?
I told my dealer not to mount mine and my Bronco specialist actually took the bracket out of the truck altogether so the PDI/mechanics couldn't mount it!
