EDIT: user GoTigersGoBronco answered my question. Thank you

Talked with a dealer to look at a Bronco on their lot. The reply was that the only way to test drive it is to have service done at their shop.

The Broncos are part of the service loaner program. The Ford dealer may be taking that literally and using them as service loaners.

Service loaner is a pretty common use of Mannequin's, but with something is "hot" as the Bronco, that dealership is wasting it in that role (IMHO).

Genius and a good call. I can foresee some dealerships trying to keep miles off them to sell them in 7 months....

Maybe I'm mistaken, but I thought I'd seen they had to have them for 7 months and have at least 4k miles on them before they could be sold.

Maybe that was something with a different manufacturer/model though

A traditional CTP (Courtesy Transportation Program) vehicle aka "service loaner" is 6 months or 2,000 miles. I'm not sure on a mannequin but we have had our Mach E and Bronco Sport for what seems like forever. Our Bronco mannequin is supposed to arrive today!
