Everyone talking about having Bronco Specialists trained before Broncos arrive on the lot is missing the big picture. It doesn’t matter if they’re trained by the time they show up on the lot because everyone’s order is going to have been placed 3-4 months before the training. They need to train these people now so they can take orders in December

Where did the quarter million reservations number come from? Ford said 165k and someone tried to justify a claim of 185k. Now it's 250k?

I’m going to be optimistic here. There is the possibility that Ford wants their dealership employees familiarized with the Bronco for deliveries. Imagine showing up to pick up your order and the dealership salesman knows nothing about it and hasn’t seen one before. It’ll be nice if the salesperson can do an actual walkthrough (as they normally would do on the lot) with information that’s accurate and standardized by Ford.

...OR they’re training their dealership salespeople in March because the shipments are going to be delayed by 1 million years due to COVID and incompetence. That’s the pessimistic viewpoint.
Isn't this normal procedure with a new model? there are a few videos on the new F-150 training.

Deliveries are targeted starting in June. Last time I checked June is after March and May. Why would you train now, then have your deliveries start 6+ months away? Makes no sense.
People here are constantly complaining their dealer knows little to nothing about the Bronco. Perhaps Ford saw this and decided to do something about it?

Ford doesn’t seem to know what the Bronco is. Ford could put some documents together to answer the basic questions now and build and price would help with configuration questions. Publish a document on suspension differences and GOAT modes. Those are the kinds of questions that you need answered for ordering. If you need beyond that, I don’t think your Bronco specialist, who went on a business trip will be more helpful than that. I don’t know about the rest of you, but when I buy a vehicle I know more about it than the salesman on the floor.

Ford Bronco Dealership "Bronco Specialists" to Attend Off-Roadeo in Austin Starting March 1, 2021 8C72CDF4-CBBD-4881-852F-2159C3812B46

Additionally, this is an in-person training event. Physical time with the Bronco still makes more sense closer to actual deliveries instead of having a 6-8 month gap. Couple all that with Covid and you can see why in-person training isn’t happening this year.

The Bronco Readiness Program is comprised of more parts than just the onsite Roadeo.
The components that have currently been identified include:
  • Bronco Dealer Communications Plan – A robust, multi-channel approach will ensure you are up to speed on all things Bronco as they are announced
  • Bronco Hot Sheet Reminder – Use this document to help answer customer questions today. Additional hot sheets will be made available as more information is made public.
  • Bronco Text Messaging Reminder – Be the first to hear about Bronco news by enrolling in FMC Dealer Text Messaging. Job aid attached.
  • Marketing Assets on Ford Dealer Toolbox – Assets will be made available to you to support each Bronco event.
  • Bronco eSourceBook – Start preparing for Bronco’s arrival today by exploring eSourceBook content outlining Bronco History and other topics that will be relevant to your future Bronco customers.

A lot of these tools should go a long way to address your concerns. IMO, the onsite roadeo will be more successful when you have the opportunity to be hands-on on production units the specialist can actually drive.

Sure. The training should happen as soon as possible, but it’s not needed for ordering. The B&P shouldn’t and won’t let you add packages and features to non-compatible vehicle configurations. What you can build on the website will be exactly what you can get. Honestly, I don’t think many people on this forum actually care if dealerships are trained. They just want their order to be delivered ASAP.
