People here are constantly complaining their dealer knows little to nothing about the Bronco. Perhaps Ford saw this and decided to do something about it?
We've known since the launch that the bronco specialist would be going to "Off-Rodeo Training". We just had no idea what, where, or when it would be.

They are considering doing it virtually and the bronco sales training is being taken by everyone, the way we do it at Mullinax is each customer has a salesman and they keep that salesman even if they come back years later I can’t speak for others but I know the way we are moving forward is the entire team is getting trained on the bronco and the specialist is going to be our gm (or me if I can convince him to send me instead lol) and they are gonna train the team on a practical bronco at the dealership. Now this is all tentative but that’s what we are planning now and that’s what we did with the bronco sport they brought around a bronco sport and trained the sales team on it then went to the other dealers in the area and did the same so the specialist will be working with a guy from ford to practically train everyone. It’s the most efficient way especially considering how there will be no dealer stock and broncos are going to be relatively rare

Additionally, as the foremost Bronco expert in this post, I am telling you to order a 2021 regardless of when it gets delivered. It will be labeled a model year as deemed fit by the Ford Motor Company. Hope this helps.
@TN Wheeler Ford deemed fit to label Broncos built to orders converted from reservations prior to 09/18/20 as MY2021 and after that as MY2022. It is nice that this information is made available prior to ordering.

Relevant Link

This should assuage your concerns over MY and depreciation. Ordering for the MY2022 is still something to keep an eye on.

Pretty sure I could drive up to Austin and get a blue shirt embroidered to tag along with them until I'm outed...

I think you missed the sarcasm once again (I even included the /s for you this past time and you still can't quite catch on). Let me lay this one out: You have made comments in the past asking for the "experts" here to definitively state things that no one can answer. It should be quite obvious that such statements cannot be made, yet here we are. Sounds ridiculous right? So is self-declaring myself a Bronco "expert". See what I did there?

Yes, your "order" is first dibs at buying the Bronco that is built to your specifications. I call it an "order", because that is the lexicon that is used. Go read the verbiage from Ford for yourself and please report back on my shortcomings. I am obviously too inept and reading isn't my strong suit.

When you wish/"order" a vehicle you select packages or individual options. In an example that I know of, some things (like tires) you have no say in. Specific example: If you order say a 2016 BMW M3, it will either come with Michelin or Continentals. Manufacturer decides what you get. It is not an option. However on that same vehicle, you order upgraded suspension, you will get the upgraded suspension. For Bronco, if you order a Badlands with High Package, that is what you will get. What brand of 12" screen Ford decides to put in there is not up to you, but you will get a 12" screen. That happens unless that configuration is no longer available which would drive a conversation between you or your April buyer and the dealership. If new options are available, I would hope that Ford or dealer would contact you or your April buyer to see if changes to selected options are allowed. I cannot confirm this (see first paragraph).

No one is buying a 5 year old Bronco new from Ford (well dealer really since we are being overly pedantic now - see above with "order") so your argument isn't a particularly good one. I see what you are going for and it falls flat to me. Continuing with the model year versus year ownership taken; if model year designation and depreciation is such a concern for you or the April buyer, hope in line at Granger and get your $2000 off invoice and hope the cycle doesn't repeat itself. That or wish for a 2021 to be delivered in 2021 and don't sign papers otherwise. That email from the dealer to say stop buy on first week of January to pick up your Bronco would have been a great Christmas present, but that damn depreciation...
Had to Google pedantic (good one)?

I'm in Austin and know my way around offroad vehicles. I've helped train newbies and done many official dealership training workshops for a brand I won't name but you can figure out. I wonder if they need local offroad trainers here in Austin. :)
They do, yeah (did?). There was a job listing for Off Roadeo instructors. Wish I could remember where I saw that.
