Still miss our CJ5. The size of the vehicle, the soft doors, the fold down wind shield, the almost total lack of plastic.

And sort of miss the high/lo shift lever and having to get out to hand turn the lock on the front hubs.

I do not miss the noise of our soft top at 50mph and above or a strong crosswind.

My Jeep thang started when I lived in New England and shoveling my Mustangs (5 of those, 4 were Fox body GTs) out of the driveway to get to work in the snows was getting old. Learning to hold the road in a rear wheel sportscar made the Jeeps feel like cheating in 2WD and I never used 4WD on the streets no matter the weather. Then I started being able to afford two personal cars - summer and winter. And I could afford to offroad and break things too.

There have now been two TJ Saharas and a YJ in my past and I still own a third TJ Sahara that my husband gifted me and helped build. He is not a car guy but he did have some Wrangler envy that culminated in his 22 OBX Non-Sas (huge milestone for him, I mean, when I met him he was driving an old pink champagne minivan because his amps and guitars fit in it).

I gave up my highway ride (21 Grand Cherokee WK2) to buy the 24 Heritage. And I had peeped new Wranglers while considering what I wanted next (they feel like cheap plastic boxes whereas the TJs just feel solid and utilitarian). I think I am entering a second mid life crisis and I may need a third personal car soon - something sleek and fast.

In all seriousness having a wrangler first is leveling up. These vehicles are niche lifestyle toys.

The rattles, the louder wind noise. The weatherproof-ish buttons n knobs. The wider spaces between body parts. Certain people may see that as panel gaps.

How many here never owned a Jeep prior to buying a Bronco? Just curious.
I don’t have anything against Jeeps, but never considered owning one. I ordered my. Bronco as soon as I saved enough to purchase.
I had a Jeep TJ (briefly) and a JK (5 years). I loved my JK, but I was driving cross-country a lot in it. All the road skitter and noise was wearing me down. As soon as I saw the Bronco, I got excited. I just knew Ford could do a better job on both those issues, so I ordered and waiting 24 months for it. They did... it's been really great in comparison. As soon as the Bronco arrived, I sold my JK to Carvana. That was 1.5 years ago.

Beautiful. What gearing do you have in there? 4.46 or 4.7? I don't think it started out as a Sasquatch from looking at the fenders.
Thank you. it is 4.7. You are correct in didn't start out as a sasquatch I have just been adding things to it along the way. I don't do much wheeling just loved the Bronco. I use it as everyday driver.

I own a Cherokee (not even trailhawk!) that doesn’t compare to the Bronco although I did take it offroading.
Just like Dandyman, never again! In my case, I think Jeep does well on the mechanical side, not so much on the service side. The jeep is 10 years old and rides like it’s brand new.
I can’t wait to see how the Bronco will be doing in 10 years, with the abuse, of course!
I initially was looking for a TJ cruiser until my wife showed me the Bronco commercial when it wasn’t even available! No regrets so far.

I never owned a jeep. I wanted a Bronco when I saw they first came back out, 6G. I almost never buy brand new cars so I thought I'd wait. The joke was on me as there weren't any to be found. So I quit looking.

Couple of years later I started getting an itch to get a new, to me, 'used' ride. I started looking for Broncos again but they were too expensive and slim pickings.

I started looking at Gladiators. One of the women that I play pickleball with had one and she said she liked it. I'm not one to impulse buy so I was still halfway shopping. My wife spotted an Eruption Green 22 base sitting on the lot a few cars down from a car she was thinking of buying and told me "it looks good".

My wife has hardly ever spoken those words about a car.

I looked at it online and the next day I went down and bought it. The price was right, the miles were low, 6 cylinder and it already had big tires and wheels on it so that saved me even more money.

During my research, which is known to everybody, the Broncos were known to have a better ride. Mine is used for running around enjoying retired life, not mudding or rock climbing.

I did come close to getting a Gladiator but glad I didn't. The Bronco is perfect for me.

One more thing. I'm 6 foot 250 and have never been limber and I don't much care to bump my head getting in and out of smaller vehicles. Need lots of head room. I think the Bronco is easier to get in and out of than a jeep but I won't bet money on that.

My '23 JL Rubi 2-door is my fifth Jeep, and I'll stick with them until Ford will allow me to order the Bronco I want (or not)...

I won't beat on the Bronco the way I do the Jeep, it would not survive without spending 10's of thousands on it. But it's better for daily use and I love the tech in it.

I do find humor in that I bought the Bronco to be my wife's daily, but she still drives the Jeep.

I have owned several Jeeps over the years. I still have a 2006 Commander. I sold my 2004 TJ X to use as the down payment for my Bronco. I love my Bronco but miss my TJ. I loved working on the TJ. Also have owned a '48 CJ2A. It was a goat! I also previously owned a '78 Bronco Ranger XLT which I sold for less than $1k. I am still kicking myself in the ask for that faux pas!

I almost forgot my CJ I drove from NJ to California towing a U-Haul. I loved that Jeep but it gave me no end of problems with the steering and an exhaust leak at the manifold that could not be fixed. I also owned a '72 Scout II. One other rig I owned and loved but had to sell because I was a starving student was '72 Dodge Ramcharger V8 with a manual Tranny.
