Today I stopped by my local Ford Dealer (3/4 mile away) to have a chat and possibly order a Black Diamond. Unfortunately, they just finished prepping a Race Red Heritage customer order which had all of the options, sans front bumper that I was going to order with the BD/Mid/SAS. Now I have a dilemma. I REALLY like the Heritage apart from two items:

  • White Top, like my dad’s 71 but the B Pillar is black (vinyl overlay of some sort can correct)
  • Non-wash-out-floors that come in the Black Diamond
Anything else I should be aware of?

What to do………………….

If you can afford it, Heritage hands down. Don't look back. Its unique and well equipped, although without the luxury items of the OBX. Its a SAS package as well. Its a collectors item one day IMHO.

Lots of people waiting for an HE, if someone bailed and it’s available at MSRP I would definitely jump on it. My HE isn’t even scheduled yet.

About the same price as the BD. Not looking at the Limited model,

The two things they could have done:
  • Wash-Out interior with maybe printed vinyl seats.
  • Offered it in Yellowstone

When did you order? Didn't ask about build times on Heritage.

Unless you can find an abandoned one on the lot it's a long line for a Heritage and presently you can't even order one.

As for the B pillar ... 2 door no problem!

I stopped by my local Ford dealer (Chatham (MA) Ford) today. He said that no one is taking orders for HE's. So..................grab the HE.

It’s an easy choice if you want a ‘23. Have not been able to order a Heritage Edition since March 31. All ‘23 ordering ends next Thursday.

I have a BD and you really don't need the wash out floors. The channels in them efficiently drain about 75% of the water you spray in it and then to get the last 25% out you basically have to just leave your doors open for an hour and hope its hot out, its pretty silly.

They are really nice for mudding because you know the dirt will always come off easily but really they have some design flaws.

I used to buy a lot of F550 Cab and Chassis and still have contacts at the factory level. I may try to call and see what their thoughts are for the 24 my. Not expecting much. I have talked to the regionals at Freightliner and International this week and they are clueless on when their order boards are opening and what they intend to allocate to dealers. Ford reps are probably just as clueless.

I plan on swinging by another dealer today. He has 2 HE's with a $10K "Market Value" or some such adder on both. I have a FIN and can order through the dealer I purchased SD's from.
