Diode Dynamics SS1, I’m impressed

I was looking for something to mount on the rear of the Bronco as a backup light and came across the SS1 cubes. The spec sheet is impressive, to the point I wonder if there is an error on the number of lumens these put out. They do have a different LED inside than the SS2 lights, so maybe the specs are right.

I ordered a pair of the PRO with red backlight last weekend before the price increase ($40 per pair increase on these from $180 to $220). Now that they arrived I’m impressed. They are small but very mighty for their diminutive size. I tested them on a battery in the dark garage and they have no problem lighting up the entire space. With these on top of the bumper set and ditch lights I got from @4x4TruckLEDs.com (that arrived in just 2 days), it’s going to turn night into day around my truck. I attached a pic of the SS1 next to a SS3, and I posted a pic of what could be done with the two accessory bolts on the A pillars if someone wanted to add more light.

I hadn’t seen your post, but yes it looks great.

I also ordered a set of the SS1 flush mount lights to see if they can be mounted in the steel bumper. I was looking at installing the regular ones on top of the bumper near the fender flare if I can’t make the flush mount work. I would also consider something on the spare tire, the SS1 fit within the spokes of my Method 705 wheels.
