I have an AFe exhaust on my Badlands 2.7 4 door and love the sound most of the time. Unfortunately it was quite boomy and droned at around 2000-2500 RPM, which is exactly where it likes to be when off-roading in 4-low. After some measurements it looked like I could swap the straight extension with a Vibrant 1142 resonator. I just needed that and a 3" butt clamp. The only modification I needed to do was to cut 4 slits in the resonator inlet so it would seal with the AFe clamp.
The result was just what I needed. It still sounds good but isn't obnoxious or annoying. I can wheel again without my brain feeling like it's going to turn to soup with the windows down. Sadly this won't work on the 2 door since it replaces the extension meant for the 4 door installation.
