I will be receiving my Badsquatch soon, and I ride a KTM 300 XCW TPI. Can the rear hitch support a single bike carrier and the dirt bike?

I remember reading the max tongue weight is 350lbs (10% towing capacity), so you should be ok.

Probably have to remove the spare to be able to use the carrier. You don't want to use a hitch extension with that much weight.

Is there a reason you wouldn't use a trailer?

I would expect a small two wheel trailer to be more capable, and less likely to cause damage.

Look for the carriers that have a fold up design as they are usually longer in the hitch area and should clear the spare. I'll be getting on for my grandsons dirt bike. It will be a lot more convenient to use a carrier than pulling a trailer.

Hard to back a trailer out of the woods. And not counting collected dirt or fuel/oil on board his bike weighs in at 103 Kg (227#)

If a rear hitch cNnot support the weight of one linebacker then what good is it

I use an aluminum Black Widow hitch carrier for my KTM 300XC often. It's rated for 350lbs.
My F150 has a lift and 35" tires and getting the bike up a ramp into the bed is not an easy thing by myself. That's why I use the carrier. I'm still waiting on a Bronco but if I were to use the hitch carrier, I'd definitely do it without the spare tire on.

Thanks for the replyā€™s. Iā€™m tracking that it will be like 300 pounds on the hitch. And looking to use a carrier instead of a trailer bc itā€™s easier and bed fuel mileage

I would like to see someone create a set of braces for the hitch like Ford put on the Raptor. That would make me more comfortable with that much dead weight being carried on the hitchā€¦

Iā€™ll see if I can track it down, but in the Raptor section of this forum, someone posted factory computer diagrams of the Raptor undercarriage. You can see some diagonal braces that go from the trailer hitch to somewhere in the area of the rear axle. The tow rating for the Raptor is 1000 lbs. higher than the regular Bronco, and I think this is part of the reasonā€¦

I was thinking it went to the frame rails, but it was more the what the factory bronco hitch is.

Okay, hereā€¦

Ford Bronco Dirt bike carrier C5A3EC60-E072-404A-A589-BBDD5B8DB177

The braces are seen in blue. They were able to add these because the Raptor muffler is in a different spot than the standard Bronco. Thereā€™s some debate (because itā€™s B6G, so of course) about whether itā€™s the braces that boost the tow rating of the Raptor. My feeling is, if itā€™s not the braces, what the hell are they there for? The Ranger has a tow rating of 7500 lbs. with the same engines and frames the Bronco hasā€¦

I'm looking for a good rack. Having surfed the Internet, I chose a Saris Bones 2-Bike rack for our two bikes. Does anyone have? Are you pleased with it?

I used to race on the FTR circuit here in Florida, 14 races a year. Iā€™ve had trailers. Iā€™ve had the ramp style carriers, but the best by far was the jack rack. Easy to use easy to store and also you can work on bike in the field.
