Not usually a fan of racing videos with the Bronco, but this wasn’t bad considering it was off-road.

”Refrigerators ready?” Lol love it.

Funny how the Bronco driver was super slow off to start, guy must have terrible reaction timing.
I think that its further evidence that Ford nerfs the Bronco in low RPMs in first gear.

I may have missed it, but did they even mention what GOAT mode was being used?

Wasn't there something or someone that said for the best launch and subsequent overall time to launch on 2nd instead of 1st.

Either way kind of expected both are bricks but fun to see.

100% agree the refrigerator comment was the real winner.

I notice a big difference between Sport and Normal with the 2.7. Seems to allow a lot more torque to the wheels in Sport mode.

Normal vs Baja with manual transmission

I believe it was Car and Driver who noted starting in second yielded quicker acceleration in their instrumented tests.

If you watch this video you’ll see the difference Sport mode and a 2nd gear launch makes. Keep In mind, this Bronco has an exhaust & JB4 (map4) with a mix of 93/e85 fuel.

0-60 mph runs
Normal mode - 7 sec
Sport mode - 6.5 sec
Sport mode + 2nd gear launch - 5.7 sec
Same as above but with weight reduction - 5.3 sec

Much much closer than I thought. In my mind the Bronco 2.7 would annihilate the Wrangler.

Out at the dunes a couple of weeks ago I raced a ram, jeep, and a couple tacomas, was shorter race than this. I got dead last all 4 times. They would all take off wayyyy faster, then I'd almost catch them at the end. Was in baja mode. Super slow off the line. Was embarrassing lol. They loved it.

Off the line all the broncos are slow, even the Raptor. They just dont do well on the drag strip (unsurprisingly). The Bronco Raptor is almost 6,000 lbs. very very heavy for the size

That was cool. Now I’m waiting for TFL to do something more meaningful like an off-road comparison of my AMG GTS vs a Porsche GT3 vs C8 Vette
