Hello everyone:

So I love the Bronco Raptor but wish it was available in a 2 door. I am going for looks over performance right now. Let's say you get a 2.7L Sasquatch (doesn't matter what trim) and add the following:

-Bronco Raptor or Ranger Raptor rims
-Bronco Raptor grille
-Bronco Raptor Headlights and Taillights
-Maybe a 2.7L tune?

Now for the big question. Would Bronco Raptor Suspension pieces, hood, bumper and fender flares bolt right up to a regular a Bronco?

Thanks!

Edit: Nevermind a shorter wheelbase won't hurt things

I'm willing to bet a standard 2 door 2.7 Sasquatch even without a tune would beat it. With a tune 100% definitely no questions asked. That thing is heavy.

The door Bronco isn't as unstable as you may think. It's actually a pretty big vehicle. And it has a 100 inch wheelbase. It's not like a 2 door Jeep.

That's what I was thinking.

The 2 dr Bronco wheelbase is 100.4", virtually the same as a Jeep XJ Cherokee at 101". Jeepspeed and 4600 class Ultra4 race the crap out of XJ's. Sure, longer is better, but 101" isn't bad. The 3 4600 class Broncos that swept the podium at 2022 King of the Hammers were 2dr.

They kind of look like the wheelbase is stretched a bit? Not a whole lot, maybe in the 105-110 range?

The front end pieces should be as simple as dropping your wallet off at the parts department ($$$). The rear however would be a different animal. The 4DR and 2DR are very different in the rear. You would need to custom build the rear Raptor fenders and flares to work on a 2DR. Not a simple task, but one that could possibly be done with enough time, money, and talent.

Class rules only allow 3" more wheelbase, and class rules don't allow cutting the sheetmetal to open up the wheel wells. I didn't measure their wheelbase, but if they increased it it wouldn't be by much.

With the four door, they reinforced the frame in places, changed the shock towers, braced some of the pillars, changed the exhaust to clear the new rear axles etc. So you couldn't just throw money at it from the parts department.

To @goatman2 s point, the Ultra4 Bronco is the standard 2Dr; its the stock class and all the other rigs are just that.

@2020FordRaptor, besides the cosmetics, which arenā€˜t that hard to pull off, the suspension isn ā€˜t a bolt n go set up from the 4Dr Raptor. I too wanted to see a 2Dr Raptor, as I would have switched my order to it, but the suspension is totally different.

first, the rear axle is larger; think a Dana 50 and the front may be upgraded also, although a chromoly 44 should be more than enough. Anyway, the wheels are pushed further, but think itā€™s more than spacers. The control arms are longer as well.

But, why get the Raptor set up, which is just a stage 4 or 5 when you can go better? Iā€™d go with a King set up and blow the FOX Raptor shocks away. Or since the FOX are very good, get those and add some Camburg parts for the rack and arms?

Raptor is good, but it ainā€™t trophy truck. Use your imagination and you can outdo the mechanicals. The settings are another story for someone else to chime in on.

While there are numerous things that make a good desert truck, the single most important thing is shock valving/tuning. The Raptor is tuned from the factory. Anything to compete with it or make it better must have more shock capability and be tuned to the vehicle. Can be done, but it would need to be done. It will be pretty interesting to crawl around a Braptor when they come out and see the actual differences.
