Have an Audiocontrol LC-5.1300 that has a crossover know for the front speakers. I originally had some bass blockers on the dash speakers, but was having issues with the front speakers cutting out at higher volumes. I took them out and the problem went away.

If bass blockers are supposed to block frequencies under 300 hz, wouldn't it be the same thing as setting my crossover to 300 hz?

The reduction slope will likely be steeper on your amp. The bass blockers typically will reduce at 8db/octave which is somewhat gradual, whereas most amp crossovers will reduce at 24db/octave which is way steeper and more effective to limit frequencies to those speakers. The big question is if it gives you the option to crossover your dash and kick speakers separately. I leave the high-pass crossover on my Kicker Key to 'off' but then run 600hz bass blockers on the dash and rear pod speakers. I do this to ensure that my kick speakers can contribute to the low-end along with my underseat sub.
