Do I need the towing package in order to use a hitch mount bike rack?

Or could I just add a hitch afterwards without the wiring?

Don't imagine Ill be towing anything.

Just add a hitch later if that's all you are using it for.

How BIG is your bike? LOL I am not sure if anyone has a non receiver mount out yet. But if you find one let use know!

If you haven't ordered yet I'd suggest adding tow. At $600 it's too expensive, but probably worth it in the long run.

If you've ordered and are scheduled without tow, there are aftermarket solutions.Curt Mfg makes a hitch and wiring that can be had for about $200, but you wouldn't need wiring for just a rack.

Curt Hitch #13493 for $100-$150, realtruck, etrailer

Curt Plug and Play wiring (4 pin only) #56468 $80 etrailer

It will be worth adding from the factory for the next owner, or if you need lights on any racks hanging out the back. Plus it carries the 3 year factory warranty.

If it’s just for the bike rack…buy the Curt for $113 delivered…why worry about the next owner when you can save $500 and still have the exact same capability for your use? I bought the Curt and it is really nice - the one that attaches like the OEM hitch.

If you're planning on trading it in, next dealership will either see a receiver and add it to their valuation as tow package regardless of missing 4/7 pin wiring, or they don't consider that worth adding value at trade in.
I do not believe tow package adds any resale value at all unless you generally sell private party.
Also, most states only require 7pin functionality on loads over 3000lbs, Bronco tow limit is 3500. 4 pin functionality is going to be acceptable for I would imagine 99.9% of future bronco owners and they can add that themselves for $80

Any idea how the positioning of the curt hitch receiver, relative to the bottom of the spare, differs from that of the ford OEM receiver?

I am looking at the PakMule Sway-Back, which has about 2 fingers of clearance from a Sasquatch spare with the OEM tow package, but I am considering using the Curt one. I just want to make sure the curt one isn't somehow closer to the spare than the OEM one.

Get the hitch. ebikes are the fastest growing segment in bicycling and they can weigh upwards of 50 pounds. If you don't own one now, its very likely you will...)
Put a couple bikes on a good hitch mount cradle bike rack and you've got 150 pounds back there.
Good models will swing out of the way of your rear door.
You don't want any kind of spare tire mount or old school strap mount bike rack.
Yeah, factory hitch is over-priced, but some (some) aftermarket hitches look... well... aftermarket and detract from the overall look of the vehicle. Get the factory hitch receiver.

Towing Capability is not available on a 2-door Base Sasquatch. I would have ordered it for mine if I could have gotten it. The dealer will be adding the towing stuff to mine, including the wiring, as soon as it shows up mid-December or so. I expect to mainly haul bicycles or a dirt bike on a hitch rack, but I want it to be fully functional, just in case.
