I generally do most maintenance work myself. Brakes, lube changes, filter changes, wheel bearings, exhaust, spark plugs, and coil packs all done by yours truly. Only for warranty items, recalls, and super extensive fixes do I take my vehicle to a dealership service center. I like to keep my sphincter unviolated if you know what I mean.

TDI diesel here...I’m not touching it! I also wanted every service record for resale value.

Never other than warranty work. What I can't do myself, I find a good local shop to do for me. Dealers usually take too long and cost more.

For all that do the basics themselves while under warranty, any issues trying to use the warranty down the road? Or is this a wise tail passed around?

I also like the fall back of them performing service inspections (even if most are fresh from schools), so if anything happens I have the "safety net" that it was just looked at by a Ford dealership.
