I got this email from Ford today:

Ford Bronco Does anyone use Ford Streaming? 1650838307465

Never used it, don't even know what it is really.

I use SiriusXM and did the free 3 month extension (so 6 months total), and use Carplay. But the dealer never talked to me about "Ford Streaming".

Am I missing something? Is this a useful thing? Or is this up there with Ford's navigation which I have no plans to renew when that free period expires.

I found one thread on it in the forum, but I could not figure out the benefit of the "Streaming" vs Alexa (which I guess I have for 3 years): Eligible 2022 Ford vehicles receive three years of access to Alexa Built-in and 30-days of complimentary streaming media services that begin on the new vehicle warranty start date, after which fees apply.

I didn’t see any use in Ford streaming. I think you have to have an Alexa device in your home, somehow works in conjunction with that. I don’t have one and have no plans to buy one either. I just deleted that Alexa icon on my Sync screen. I will renew the navigation when the free period expires. It’s only $80 a year and I do like the sync nav.

Yeah, I just got a notice that it's already expiring (I'm 2 1/2 weeks in my Bronco!) and I'm trying to figure out what's worth $10/mo?? Very unclear explanations by Ford.

If you have a smartphone with cellular data and you use that for your music and maybe even navigation (e.g., Waze, Apple/Google Maps) then you won't need Ford's streaming service. This is just an offering for those that don't have, or use, their smartphone or the music/navigation services those smartphones provide

How'd you do that if you don't mind sharing? I was looking in the settings and didn't see a disable option.

I subscribed to try it out. It’s nice to stream Amazon music without your phone streaming it - phone less likely to overheat on the wireless charging pad.

I don’t like that it never remembers where it was playing after restarting the car.

Is it a hotspot?
It uses the built in data connection for streaming. I think the hotspot is part of that, but not sure as I have no need for it other than for streaming.

According to this:
https://www.ford.com/alexa/
Alexa is free for three years, and you pay for Ford Streaming- so yes you can use the hotspot….

seems cheaper than SiriusXM by a long shot, and if you have Amazon music etc, may be compelling
