Does the capable bumper setup on a 2022 badlands use full skid plates like the '21 MY? Can't get an answer. It would seem that that model being being "extreme offroader" should have them standard

It’s described as power coated steel. It is standard on the 2022 Black Diamond and Badlands which have power coated steel rear bumpers and full skid plates.

Really hard to tell if the capable bumper on Badlands gets the full metal bash plates.

Ford authority web site it doesn't look like it gets the bash plates
Ford Autority
The Capable bumper is made from powder-coated steel and features recovery points and fog lights, while the Heavy-Duty Modular bumper is made of steel and features recovery points. It’s also modular (as the name implies) and supports the optional brush guard, factory winch, and front steel bash plates.
Reading on the bronco nation it also looks like only the modular gets the steal bash plates.

I have to figure it out before converting my order to 2022. Not happy about not being able to get the 21.

That's exactly my problem. I may just stick with the capable if the front skid is steel and then get aftermarket plates

So can we not mount a winch to this "capable bumper"?

It says you can.
Capable Bumper

For '22 the Capable bumper is default for Black Diamond and Badlands, replacing the '21 Heavy-Duty Modular default.
  • Material: powder-coated Steel
  • Features: modularity, fog lights, recovery points, supports the brush guard, factory winch, and front steel bash plates

According to the 2022 Configurator online now the steel bash plates are standard and work with the capable and modular bumper.

I still want to do the multi driving / fogs anyways. I am sticking with adding the now upgraded Ford Performance HD bumper on my BL order. I guess based on the order guide since BL gets bash plates as standard you should be safe with the capable, it would be crazy if Ford did it different.

I find it interesting that the "capable" bumper on the configurator shows it with tow hooks and not the shackles they've shown in previous images...
