Took delivery last night and today I’m getting a “Cargo Area Ajar” notification and neither the lights nor warning will go off. I noticed there’s a pretty big gap between the tailgate and the body.

After unloading all the boxes from the back seat, I noticed the paneling on both sides has a pretty substantial gap as well (although equal on both sides).

Does anyone else have something similar?

I don’t have this problem but I would call the dealership and tell them you’re bringing it in for them to fix it. You just spent a pretty penny on the bronco, they need to fix it asap

Apparently, this is how they all look (according to my Dealer). Hm.

He did say the tailgate should be more flush so they’re sticking me on the schedule for that, but that gap in the cargo area looks horrendous.

Let me look at my cargo area in a couple minutes and I'll let you know if I have the same type of gap. The swing gate is definitely not right.

Maybe CO contrast helps to better see gaps

@Denis
Thanks for checking, guys. Looks like it's "just" a tailgate issue then.

Curious what the rationale is for those gaps though - they seem pretty unsightly.

The inside warping and gaps look typical. I won't say normal, as I don't know if that is the way it was designed to look or not. As far as the tailgate door itself, that looks like it needs to be adjusted. If you can, take a pic of the tailgate from a little further away.

The door should close 100% flush. If the dealer insists that all doors are not flush, we can send him a few thousand pics showing s/he is wrong.

The cargo area gaps look like mine.

I'll snag some more in an hour or two. It's definitely nowhere near as flush as a few other users here have posted.

Hardtop gaps is definitely normal. Tailgate is definitely not.
